Customer update on A320 global software issue Air New Zealand is affected by a global Airbus software update required on all A320 aircraft, causing disruption to some of our flights. If you’re travelling on an affected A320 route up to and including Tuesday 2 December, we are offering you extra flexibility. You can make one free change to your flight to travel within seven days of your original booking, hold your fare in credit for twelve months, or request a refund, including for non refundable bookings. UPDATE: Airbus A320 Global Software Issue We’re currently experiencing a global software issue affecting Airbus A320 aircraft. Our A320 fleet is safe to operate, however, as a precaution, we grounded all A320neo aircraft this morning. To allow aircraft to get to their destination and minimise disruption, a new update from the European Union Aviation Safety Authority (EASA) has now advised that aircraft with this software can continue operating until 12:59pm, 30 Nov (NZT). This means, where possible, we are able to operate A320 services today before commencing the required updates. We’re working quickly to roll out these updates and minimise disruption. It’s important to know there is no immediate safety risk, this is a precautionary software update. If you’re travelling today, please keep a close eye on your flight information through the Air NZ App or website. We will also contact customers directly if their flight is affected. We understand unexpected changes to travel are frustrating and appreciate everyone's patience.
