Thank you for the update on today’s hearing. The further adjournment to the week commencing 18 Jan 27 is disappointing, particularly after 95 dates in the matter.
While the Attorney General’s submission was firmly opposed by our counsel, the prolonged delay also highlights a larger reality. Meaningful progress on NFU is difficult as long as the Service Chiefs and Service Headquarters remain largely silent or non-committal. The serving leadership is the most credible voice for the welfare of those currently in uniform.
It is equally important for the veteran community to speak with one apolitical voice rather than through multiple organisations. Fragmented efforts dilute impact.
Veterans have supported this cause for years. Stronger and more visible ownership by the serving community will further strengthen the demand.
We continue to repose full faith in the Hon’ble Supreme Court for an early and just resolution.

NFU Case: The Case is being pursued once again by me relentlessly since 22 Sept 26. Today the Matter was taken up and the Learned Attorney General (AG) Mr R Venkatramani appeared through VC and very SHAMELESSLY asserted that now since the Committee Report has come against them, the matter should be filed afresh by the Petitioners in AFT and then we will see. Our Team led by our Senior Counsel Mr Sanjib Sen vehemently objected to such submission by the AG. Also it was submitted that today is the 95th date in the matter and now the AG is trying to take advantage of his own proposal to constitute a Committee and then for getting a unfavourable Report from the said Committee. It was nothing but again an attempt to deny the Armed Forces their rightful dues. After hearing both the sides, the Court passed the Order to list the matter in week commencing 18 Jan 27. For kind information of all concerned, please.
