If someone can sway the electorate against a person holding public office, the real question is whether that leader has failed to earn public confidence or whether you are simply incapable of grasping the distinction between accountability and instigation. In a democracy, public opinion is not something to be manipulated into submission; it is something those in power must continually earn through their decisions and performance. Every policy is open to scrutiny, whether implemented by the BJP, SP or any other party. Accountability is not partisan, dissent is not disloyalty, and criticism does not require anyone’s permission. No political party is entitled to immunity from scrutiny, and no citizen owes a government unconditional allegiance. If a policy fails, its consequences must be questioned; if a government falls short, its leadership must answer. That is democracy, not provocation. The reference to psychiatrists and ophthalmologists was made in a specific context. Recognising that context requires intellectual dexterity, not knee-jerk outrage or deliberately obtuse interpretations. I wrote this solely after witnessing the clownish behaviour on display. Before mistaking your inability to follow an argument for a flaw in the argument itself, perhaps invest in understanding the context. The spectacle is not the criticism; it is the desperate attempt to discredit scrutiny rather than engage with it.
