EXCLUSIVE: Elon Musk came to Donald Trump with the plan to throttle Ukraine’s use of SpaceX’s Starshield satellite internet network, sources have told the Telegraph.
The tech billionaire made the proposal during the US President’s row with Volodymyr Zelensky over strikes on Russian oil refineries.
‘The reality is that they were both in it,’ a senior source said of Musk’s and Trump’s involvement.
But after a night of carnage in Kyiv caused by the slowdown, Musk was alarmed about the possibility of adverse consumer reaction in Europe.
The SpaceX boss then proceeded to tweet, blaming the US administration, and ultimately, President Trump for authorising the slowdown.
‘He tweeted out that he was innocent and that it was the US administration that did it,’ the source said.

for no particular reason and certainly not with any particular catalyst in mind, a reminder: one of the best times to short a shitco is when the maximum number of people are excited about them announcing a product that cannot possibly come to fruition

This is a great read from @Waymo on lessons learned for autonomy.
I'll admit I was over optimistic about end-to-end neutral networks and in vision only systems but neither has seemed to pan out.
The "humans can drive with just visual sensors" argument always misses that our "cameras" are on a 6DOF pivot (our head) and that we can deploy glare protection (sunshade, sunglasses) in realtime.

To reiterate: it's abundantly clear the Starship program is a colossal systems engineering failure. Despite cries of "iteration", we are at the thirteenth flight and third version of this vehicle and it still lacks basic functionality.

Never before in a hundred years of automobile history has one country’s exports exploded like this.
China Car Exports:
2020: 1 million
2022: 3.1 million
2024: 7.9 million
2026: 12 million (f)
> Japan’s highest export number ever was 6 million.
> 12 million is more than the US annual production (10m)
> Global car demand flat since 2020 so China export gain is others’ pain.
> VW plans layoffs of up to 100,000 employees as sales tank.
