Nolla on hatara, ykkönen kunnollista perustasoa, 2-3 alan huippua.

Put industrial back to industrial policy.
Replying to @TimRuhr
Finnish history is a very clear guide to how this works: the state funds new industries in big steps, the private sector builds around it incrementally. The moment people started imagining their country is America and that private means magic the music stopped.

Vrt ”he jotka luopuvat olennaisista vapauksista turvallisuuden vuoksi eivät ansaitse kumpaakaan” Vähän mopo keulii nykyään turvallisuusteatterin osalta.
Pääministeri @PetteriOrpo toteaa viisaasti: ”Turvallisuus menee kaiken edelle.”

Very disappointing to see some still hold on to nonproductive polarization in low emission energy sphere.
EU alliance Friends of Renewables was formed to block nuclear energy in Europe ⚠️ says Austrian minister for Energy and Climate from the Greens The group was formed by Germany, Austria and Denmark, who is set to hold the position as EU energy Commissioner

Ok so. Got a template for a manuscript, very well. But, why the hell are they using nested list for section and subsection headers, instead, like, HEADINGS FOR HEADINGS?!?!? LISTS FOR THE LIST GOD, HEADINGS FOR THE SECTION HEADINGS!!!! GRAAAAH

Tapani Honkamaa of STUK discusses Safeguards by Design process with LDR-50 district heating reactor at IAEA SMR Conference. I was part of the initial discussions when this project started few years back and considered the early interaction valuable.

Openness about the collaboration allows also Tapani to provide concrete insights. To me this stands in contrast to many other presenters, who evade concrete examples and keep discussion on a very high level. Benefits of Finnish tradition of practicality and openness?

Third day of IAEA SMR Conference and Stephane Sarrade opens the meme game. Sarrade chairs Generation IV International Forum, which has been facilitating Gen4 reactor development for, well they invented the label. So he is very happy for recent investment to advanced reactors.

True Battle of Technologies in this session. Sodium cooled reactors, lead cooled reactors, gas cooled reactors, molten salt reactors. Every presenter is focusing on their own design, but some elbowing to sides can be noticed.

Andy Crabb from AtkinsRealis describes how RR SMR design benefits from using metadata to guide the designing the placement of modules and how architchts can help turning 2D designing into 3D optimization.

Second day of IAEA SMR Conference. Frank Moran of CEA presents their work on heating reactor where secondary circuit is actually a pool of water. It actually reminds me of the operation of giant heat storage being planned in Vantaa that relies on similar thermocline function.

Now at IAEA SMR Conference in Vienna. I will be presenting some open access SMR models (co-)developed at VTT. But that is for tomorrow. Today, big shot panels on SMRs and on new applications. Here on industry panel Janne Liuko from Helen discusses their nuclear energy project.

Sarah Wilkin from Fly Green Alliance discussed how much synthetic fuels are going to be needed and how there is a need for steady supply. And Scott Edwards of Core Power wants to put the reactor onna boat.
