As I'm preparing my poster for next #LPSC2024, here is a new #3D #VR outcrop model of a workspace studied by #Zhurong 🇨🇳 rover. This one has a very nice small impact crater! 🌠 skfb.ly/oRCDY

Looking forward to the symposium next week. I will be sharing some experience from our work on connectivity and its influence on thermal transfer in the “Dogger” interval.
BGS will be at the @GeolSoc 10th UK Geothermal Symposium from 20 - 22 November. The symposium aims to highlight the technical and scientific advances being made across the spectrum of geothermal resources. Click below for more details and the programme: geolsoc.org.uk/011-EG-Geothe…

A different, but important, take for #WorldDigitalPreservationDay - digital outcrop preservation. It's important to digitally preserve key geological outcrops. This increases #Inclusivity, #accessibility, and reproducibility. Read the @TheSedRecord paper: thesedimentaryrecord.scholas…

End of the summer and back to sharing experiment movies for the fun of it. This is sedimentation over a pair of basement domino faults. Find more movies like this looking at the effect of sedimentation on faulting here: doi.org/10.48420/24064719.v1

Today we get a rare glimpse into the Earth's interior. The rather eventful tectonic past of the Pyrenees brought rocks from the Earth's mantle to the surface on today's second climb. We can actually see the green and red 'Lherzolites' rocks right there which is quite unique. These rocks help us interpret what we ‘see without seeing’ inside the earth using earthquake data, as @arwendeuss of the @UniUtrecht explains. Isn’t science cool? geo-sports.org/2023/stage-5-… #geosports #geotdf #tdf2023

Today is Monday so it’s time for cake, a geological layer cake at the amazing @geoparkea Zumaia. If you want to spot geologists in the wild, you might actually find them here. But we spot so much more in this treasure trove. geo-sports.org/2023/stage-3-… #geosports #geotdf #TDF2023
