Along with colleagues from @Europarl_EN from five political groups, we are urgently requesting immediate, concrete EU 🇪🇺 action from @EU_Commission regarding #Serbia’s 🇷🇸 deployment of spyware against student leaders, activists and opposition leaders!

‼️ We thus urgently request that the @EU_Commission immediately:
➡️ freezes all payments under the EU Growth Plan for Serbia & IPA III
➡️ cancel upcoming official trips to Belgrade,
➡️ condition Serbia’s accession progress on rule-of-law accountability (MUP & BIA restructure).
Appeasement has failed.
It is time for the Commission to demonstrate that compliance with fundamental democratic standards is a non-negotiable requirement, not an optional preference.

Studenti u blokadi i Share Fondacija objavili da su telefoni najmanje 14 osoba iz Srbije ove godine špijunirani naprednim softverom i da to predstavlja najveći dokumentovani talas takvog nadzora u zemlji. Među tim osobama su studentski i opozicioni aktivisti i političari, među kojima su i narodni poslanik Radomir Lazović, kopredsednik Zeleno-levog fronta, i jedan lokalni odbornik. Poslanici Evropskog parlameta iz grupe Zeleni zbog toga traže reakciju Evropske komisije, a kako za N1 iz ove grupacije navodi evroposlanikom @VPrebilic - "govorimo o neprihvatljivom i kriminalnom napadu na demokratiju i osnovna ljudska prava".
It was a short step from sound cannon in March 2025 to fully operational spyware campaign against key opposition and student activists in #Serbia.
There is zero excuse for @MartaKosEU & @vonderleyen to visit Belgrade 🇷🇸 in the coming month and create a false sense of normalcy.

Na inicijativu @VPrebilic iz Zelenih @europeangreens poslanici EP su uputili hitan poziv Evropskoj komisiji i Delegaciji EU u Srbiji da reaguju povodom represije koju režim sprovodi protiv aktivista, studenata, građana i opozicionih predstavnika koji su izneli istinu o upotrebi zvučnog oružja u Srbiji. ZLF je prethodno javno pozvao poslaničke grupe EP koje su glasale za rezoluciju o Srbiji da reaguju na ono što se dešava u našoj zemlji.
“SNS mora odgovarati zbog ovog zločina, o kom je svedočilo 3400 građana čije je zdravlje bilo ugroženo na protestu, kao i šest specijalnih izvestilaca UN, koji su tražili da se ovo oružje ne koristi protiv demonstranata. Reakcija evroposlanika čak 5 grupacija EP je još jedna potvrda toga. Nakon najave SNS da će i narodni poslanici biti pod istragom, poručujemo da slobodno mogu prvo nas da hapse, jer nećemo nikada prestati da tražimo da se kazne odgovorni.” poručio je Radomir Lazović.

The weaponisation of fear, fabricated charges and false accusations based on Russian FSB report are completely unacceptable.
We demand an end to this orchestrated campaign of intimidation against those who exposed the deployment of acoustic weapon in March 2025 and call on @EU_Commission, @MartaKosEU and @vBeckerath to publicly condemn these attacks and protect those standing up for democratic Serbia!
