You could drop the voting age to 5 and it wouldn't matter at all. Voting can't change anything because it doesn't change the invisible government, who are the true rulers of each country.

Leave your mind alone, that is all. Do not go along with it. After all, there is no such thing as mind apart from thoughts which come and go, obeying their own laws, not yours. They dominate you only because you are interested in them.

In your 20s, you can get away with being selfish. Your friends will often be selfish themselves and no-one knows any better.
In your 30s you can still do okay, provided you can make yourself useful. Many still find selfishness entertaining at that age.
In your 40s most people will be busy with families, and they won't have the spare time to hang out with selfish people who offer little in return.
In your 50s most people have grown up and will not respect you if you are still selfish. You will seem like an eternal child to them.
In your 60s, selfish people have very few friends at all, just arselickers and other sad cases who no-one wants to be around. A 60-year old who is still selfish is one of the most pathetic things imaginable.
I am 45 now and can see this pattern playing out very clearly.

I dont think a lot people truly grasp how much social mobility in terms of housing has been absolutely decimated.
In 1999, you could afford to buy a median house in every capital but Sydney on a median household income, in some cases absurdly easily.
Today, a place like Albury is unaffordable and in price to income terms is roughly in the same ballpark as California.
Dual income households in the top 20% of earners are today fighting tooth and nail for homes in same percentile that a bus driver and a part time canteen lady were buying at a canter at the turn of the millenium.
And it is entirely underappreciated what a major social issue this is.
If you cant build a decent life even with hard work and a huge income relative to the median, whats the point especially after all that tax.

If you look at a world map, and you look at where civilisation is and historically has been, it's an utter miracle that Australia and NZ look like they do today. Both should be wastelands populated only by savages.
