When Nunn confronted them, the woman brought up the price of her home and mocked the university’s graduation rate. “We paid $1.5 million for our house,” she declared, before claiming the school’s graduation rate was just 25%. When Nunn reminded her that she lived in a historically Black neighborhood, the woman responded: “THIS IS OUR NEIGHBORHOOD!” She then told Nunn to leave her property, even though Nunn was standing on a public street, and suggested calling the police. The City of Austin has since confirmed that parking is allowed along those blocks, except in designated restricted areas.
