THERE’S MORE TO FOOTBALL THAN THE PREMIER LEAGUE. We’re not experts; but we’re tired of low to no coverage of those clubs ‘under the prem’.

There cannot be many more traditional British football grounds than Hurst Cross. 140 years of throwing bits together to see what sticks gives the place a tangible charm. Centimetre thick red paint everywhere, crooked angles, oodles of terracing and even a pensioner smoking a pipe. Perhaps my favourite ground in the north-west. Tonight @AshtonUnitedFC saw off a late @Matlock_TownFC fightback to win 3-2. @LowerBlock @TerraceEdition @Mike_Bayly @_forgottenfooty @Andrew007Uk @67_balti @HanBalk @Staantribune @fussballgeekz @away_tours @fodboldword

Matlock Town are pleased to announce the signing of 20-year-old attacking midfielder Josh Smith from Woking FC on an initial three-month deal.
Josh came through the Bracknell Town academy setup, joining the Blades on a two-year scholarship in January 2020 after going on trial with the club.
He contributed massively to the under 18s winning the national title in 2022 from midfield, registering ten goals and 12 assists in 25 games, and was rewarded with a new deal as he made the step up to the under 21s.
In February of this year, Josh would join Woking on a permanent deal with the Cardinals having high hopes for his future prospects.
We would like to thank @wokingfc for their co-operation in making this move possible.
Welcome to the Gladiators, Josh.

Anyone else have this ridiculously far-fetched dream where we knocked out Torquay United in the @EmiratesFACup 🏆

Matlock Town are pleased to announce the return of 28-year-old midfielder Connor Dimaio from Bradford Park Avenue subject to FA and NPL approval.
Formerly with clubs including Sheffield United and Chesterfield FC, Connor's first spell with the Gladiators saw him join from Curzon Ashton in February of the 23/24 season
Sadly, Connor would suffer a long injury lay-off after needing surgery to reconstruct his ACL, receiving support and donations from the Gladiators fan base as well as the wider football family.
Fortunately, Connor has been able to get back on track, returning to the Gladiators' first eleven at the tail end of last season before a move to Bradford Park Avenue in the summer where he would go on to be entrusted with the captain's armband, featuring in all the NPL Division One East's games. He's now returned to the Gladiators to finish his story.
Welcome back to the Gladiators, Connor!

Just this time last year… Ethon Archer was playing for step 4 Non-League side Three Bridges. This weekend, he scored his first ever goal in English Football League for League Two side Cheltenham at 22 years-old 🤩👏🏼
Just a few years ago he was playing Sunday League… And has been at 7 different Non-League sides since 2020. Everyone’s journey is different. As long as you have self belief nothing is impossible. What a moment. Inspirational. 🙏🏼

🇸🇦 It was a debut to forget for Chris Smalling in the Saudi Pro League.
The former England defender scored an own goal and was later sent off as his side Al Feiha fell to a 5-0 loss against Al-Raed.
Shades of Jonathan Woodgate’s infamous Real Madrid debut.

In all seriousness, we have a full week of training and matches on our pitches so it needs to be moved!
