Relations between the U.S. and Iceland are stronger than ever.  I sat down with Foreign Minister @thorgkatrin to explore avenues to deepen our bilateral cooperation, including via increased investment in our shared Arctic security and potential opportunities for broader defense and security-related cooperation.

It was my pleasure to host embassy leaders from the GCC countries and Jordan for another frank discussion on regional security.  Our close cooperation is critical to Operation Economic Outcast, as we work together to cut Iran and its proxies off from the last remaining lifelines to the global economy.

Earlier today at the @BledStratForum, I spoke about the future of the U.S.-Europe relationship and what we need from Europe as a strategic partner.  As @SecRubio emphasized in Munich, our shared history, heritage, and values remain our foundation.  To strengthen that partnership, we should focus on secure borders, sound migration policy, political liberty, and reforming or eliminating multilateral institutions that no longer serve their purpose.

Last week, I welcomed National Security Adviser Ribadu to Washington, D.C. for the second U.S.–Nigeria Joint Working Group. The United States remains steadfastly committed to safeguarding Christian communities. Throughout our discussions, we identified concrete steps to protect Christians facing violence in Nigeria, which we expect to see continued progress on. I look forward to continuing our important work to secure a peaceful and prosperous future for the South Caucasus while strengthening America’s strategic position in this critical region.

I led the inaugural U.S.-Brunei Strategic Dialogue with FM II Erywan yesterday, a testament to the strength of our 175-year friendship and America's commitment to advancing our mutual interests in Brunei and in Southeast Asia more broadly.  We reaffirmed our commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific and discussed ways to expand economic, security, and law enforcement cooperation.

I appreciated today's productive discussion with senior embassy leadership from the GCC countries and Jordan. As we confront Iran's aggression, the United States and its regional partners remain united in strengthening our collective security. Our close coordination is vital to building the foundation for enduring peace and prosperity.
