So exciting to receive at #SummerCamp2026 Minister Dr Jean Damascène Bizimana of @Unity_MemoryRw. He urged students to leverage the opportunity to learn from people who have come to inspire them across different fields. Among other things, Bizimana challenged students to make an effort to speak #Kinyarwanda effectively, just as they learn other languages, to open up more opportunities. He also urged them to learn from #Rwanda’s history and culture, noting that no country has ever developed without building on its values, history and culture.

At today's #SummerCamp2026, our students engaged in a powerful and inspiring conversation with ACP Boniface Rutikanga of @Rwandapolice on the realities of peer pressure and addiction among young people. He challenged them to take responsibility for their choices, live within their means, and choose friends who inspire, challenge and encourage them to become better versions of themselves. “Choose your circle wisely; your friends can either limit your future or help you rise to your full potential” ACP Boniface Rutikanga

Beyond the classroom, into the community! Day 2 of #SummerCamp2026 saw students turn the spirit of service into action. They took part in the renovation of a home for a vulnerable resident in #Nkumba Sector and conducted health checks for members of the surrounding community. Driven by @MCFScholarsUR strong service mindset, students showed that education is not only about personal success; it’s also about lifting others and making a difference.

And we’re off! Day 1 of the #SummerCamp2026 kicked off in style as scholars under @MCFScholarsUR with other fellow students had an exciting day of sports, competition and teamwork! From #Badminton and #Goalball to #Football, #Basketball and #Volleyball, students brought their talent, energy and competitive spirit to the field; with top-performing teams earning well-deserved recognition! Over the coming week at the #Nkumba National Ubutore Development Center, scholars will take part in and lead activities designed to nurture personal growth, leadership, community engagement and positive impact. Beyond the fun, Summer Camp is a time to renew our commitment to values, ethics and good citizenship.
