I was at the playground with my niece when I saw a dad changing his baby’s diaper on a bench, with the baby lying properly on a portable changing mat set up over his backpack.
He was making do as best he could, with the diaper bag open beside him and the baby squirming nonstop. Two moms sitting near me commented, “Wow, I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving my husband alone with the baby for that long.”

That was what Diego told me at midnight while we sat on his sofa watching a movie.
I laughed anyway.
“You have a girlfriend. How are you still bad at kissing?”

I stared at him.
“So this wasn’t practice?”
He shook his head.
“No. I’ve wanted to kiss you for months.”
Then he took my hand and asked the one question I wasn’t ready for.
“Would you still want me if I told you I’ve never felt this way about another man?”
