I once worked at a place where greeting the boss was almost a full-time job.
My boss was the founder of the company, and she loved being addressed with a title. You couldn't just say, “Good morning.” It had to be, “Good morning, ma,” or “Good morning, Madam.”
Even when she gave you an instruction, your response had to be, “Yes, ma.”
And there was another rule: whenever she walked into the office, everyone was expected to stand up and greet her.
The first time I forgot to stand, I didn't think it was a big deal. Apparently, it was.
She got angry, and we were reminded that repeatedly breaking the rule could cost us our jobs. Since she owned the company, nobody really argued with her.
Honestly, after a while, I started feeling like I had entered a movie. I had never worked anywhere where someone's arrival required everybody to jump to their feet just to prove respect.
The funny thing was that while all these rules were taken very seriously, the welfare of the workers didn't feel nearly as important.
I lasted less than two months.
It wasn't because I couldn't respect my boss. I can. But there is a difference between respect and making people feel like they have to constantly perform obedience just to keep their jobs.

I think I finally understand why Doctor Doom could have a problem with the Avengers.
Imagine accepting the loss of someone you love, only to discover that the heroes you’re supposed to trust kept breaking the rules of time and reality whenever they wanted something badly enough.
Steve went back in time and chose the life he lost, Strange repeatedly tampered with reality to protect the people he loved, Wanda crossed into another universe searching for the children she wanted, Loki escaped the fate written for him and became the God of Stories. Deadpool even brought a Wolverine from another universe into his own.
From Doom’s perspective, they all changed reality for personal reasons.
So why should Doom accept losing everything?
Maybe that’s what truly makes him angry.
Coming out publicly takes a kind of courage that people who’ve never had to hide a part of themselves may never fully understand. I hope stories like this remind someone who’s still struggling that they’re not alone. 🏳️🌈

Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin are new parents!
On Monday, Sept. 28, the couple announced that they had welcomed their baby girl three weeks ago, seemingly on Labor Day, Sept. 7.
“We took Labor Day literally this year, 👼🏻” the pair teased in a joint Instagram post, alongside a photo of them with their backs to the camera as they hold their infant daughter between them. The trio can all be seen wearing Los Angeles Dodgers jerseys as they stand in front of the TV, watching a game.
The actor and former Victoria’s Secret model — who wed in July 2023 — have yet to announce their baby girl’s name.
The Disney Channel alum, 34, first announced in May that he and his model wife, 32, were expecting their first baby while attending the 79th Annual Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France.
The couple could be seen posing together in a few photos. In one snap, Palvin wore a light blue dress that featured cap sleeves and a feather skirt. She posed with her hand under her belly, accentuating her baby bump.
Sprouse could be seen next to his wife, wearing a tuxedo and placing one arm around Palvin.
The actor then revealed he and his wife would be having a baby girl during the debut episode of his podcast Wildmen in July.
“Do you want to share?” Palvin asked Sprouse during the podcast.
“Yeah, we’ve been calling her principessa,” Sprouse said, revealing that the two are having a girl. “Which I don’t know why that’s been our like...well, it’s Italian for princess.”
“But no, we are having a baby girl, which I’m very excited about,” he continued. “I’m excited to be a girl dad, actually.”
The two said at the time they’re still going “back and forth” on names and don’t know what they’re going to call their “principessa.”
During his sit-down with Amanda Hirschon her Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast in August, Sprouse also opened up about his excitement about welcoming a girl, as she’ll be the “first Sprouse girl born in a very long time.”
“We have a very small family in general, but this is the first Sprouse girl in a very long time, which makes me nervous because I come from a family of just boys,” the Beautiful Wedding star explained. “So, my dad can’t really help me understand this.”
“In terms of raising a baby girl, it’s completely unknown to me,” he continued, going on to share why he’s looking forward to welcoming a daughter. “However, I’m very excited because all my buddies who have boys seem like they’re undergoing like a traumatic experience.”
During the couple’s July podcast episode, Palvin went on to joke that having a baby girl is going to “mellow” her husband out.
“You’re going to be so stressed about the princess,” the model said, as Sprouse joked back, “I just also unironically love a tea party.”

Ever since I was a child, I was afraid, troubled, denied, and refused to face certain aspects of myself.
Those aspects being, that I am gay and one of the sexual minorities.
Spending almost two years playing on the same team as my younger brother Ran Takahashi was the biggest thing for me, and I was able to recognize myself through honest conversations.
I can organize my mind by putting my feelings into words, and little by little I am starting to think, "I'm good just the way I am".
I was able to face myself so far because of the presence of my family members, teammates, team staff, and everyone involved who supported me so far. I am truly grateful to you for supporting me in various situations.
As we enter the new season, I would like to tell the fans who always support me in my own words at this time.
I will continue to devote myself to volleyball and work hard for my own growth in various situations.
And for those who are struggling to accept themselves, regardless of the reasons or backgrounds, I would be happy if my confrontation with myself and sharing my thoughts in my own words could be even a small catalyst for change.
