Princeton's Introduction to Robotics! 🎓 Princeton University released their full Introduction to Robotics course publicly with lecture videos, notes, slides, and assignments. This course provides fundamental theoretical and algorithmic principles behind robotic systems with hands-on experience. Topics covered: → Feedback Control (dynamics, PD control, Linear Quadratic Regulator) → Motion Planning (discrete planning with BFS/DFS, optimal planning with Dijkstra/A*) → State Estimation, Localization, and Mapping (Bayes filtering, Kalman filtering, particle filtering, SLAM) → Vision and Learning (optical flow, deep learning, convolutional networks, reinforcement learning), and broader topics including robotics and law, ethics, and economics. Assignments include theory, programming, and hardware implementation components. The final project has students program drones for vision-based navigation with attached cameras transmitting real-time images. All lecture videos, notes, slides, and assignments are freely available. Prerequisites include multivariable calculus, linear algebra, basic probability, basic differential equations, and some programming experience in Python. ‼️ GO FOR IT: irom-lab.princeton.edu/intro… ~~ ♻️ Join the weekly robotics newsletter, and never miss any news → ziegler.substack.com

Hardware houses have replaced hacker houses as my new favourite Indian startup subtype. Torus Motion (@Torus_Motion) is building globally competitive axial flux motors out of a 3,200 sq ft house in Chennai. The TV room is a board room. Assembly and QC happens in the living room. One of the bedrooms is used for inventory storage. They have plans to move to a much larger 10,000 sq ft facility to scale manufacturing from 100 motors per month to 2,000. Another part of the Torus story that I love is how it happened. The three founders were building unmanned ground vehicles for defence (MARS UGV) when they realised that India was almost entirely dependent upon China and Europe for motors. They looked around and couldn't find suitable Indian alternatives, so they threw up their hands and said, "Fine, we'll just do it ourselves." They spent five years developing homegrown axial flux technology that outperforms global alternatives in both cost and capability. Today, Torus Motion is the first Indian company to successfully commercialise and mass-produce axial flux motors for the electric mobility sector. Check out the full facility visit video over at Runtime.
Most of the world's axial flux motors come from China. Chennai-based Torus Motion (@Torus_Motion) wants to change that. After five years in R&D, their patented axial flux motors outperform global alternatives in cost and capability. Here's how they're building them in India.

Today, we're introducing Bulbul V4 Flash, our latest text to speech model built for natural, expressive speech across Indian languages. Flash brings frontier-quality speech into a smaller, more efficient model, preserving the subtle details that make voices sound natural while making speech generation significantly faster. First in my bloodline to ride a robot. And that too a made-in-India robot!
Strider Robotics (@strider_robots) has built a tank of a quadruped. Their M3 can: - Lift an adult human - Tow a car with passengers - Right itself after being flipped - Climb stairs with a 40 kg payload We visited Strider at ARTgarage (ARTPARK, IISc) to see M3 for ourselves.

Where physical AI meets the farm 🌱 @Aigeninc is using NVIDIA Cosmos and NVIDIA Jetson to build solar-powered robots for autonomous, chemical-free weed control, reducing reliance on herbicides and diesel-powered field passes. With NVIDIA technology, Aigen can: ✅ Train perception models with 99% synthetic data ✅ Reduce data collection and labelling to turn out effective models in hours instead of seasons Read the story: nvidia.com/en-us/case-studie…

Mr. Musk, yes, no billionaire should dictate a nation’s policy - Indian or American. India must welcome competition in satellite internet, from Indian and global providers, whoever offers the most practical and affordable last-mile solution for those in remote regions. In countries with lower per-capita incomes, satellite internet must be affordable too. High subscription fees and equipment costs risk putting it beyond the reach of ordinary households. Connectivity must bridge the digital divide, not create a new one. India knows our networks and spectrum are strategic infrastructure, not merely commercial assets. India’s national security safeguards are non-negotiable. Every country makes choices based on its own interests. Those in the West cannot preach free markets while practicing protectionism at home. USA imposed 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs to protect its domestic industry, just as India takes measures to protect its own domestic manufacturers. Both India and the US have restricted Huawei over security concerns. One cannot demand a level playing field from others only when it suits its own agenda. Indians will internally debate, question and address our strengths and shortcomings as a democratic country. Take BharatNet, India’s programme to bring broadband to village-level local bodies. We will question why, as the CAG’s 2026 audit report found, the programme is struggling to meet its original objectives. Why were only 33.2% of service-ready Gram Panchayats operational, despite ₹39,888 crore being spent? At the same time, we know to appreciate our telecom sector and regulations, which has made internet data among the world’s most affordable, bringing millions online. India is a democracy, not a colony. We welcome the world, but we, the Indian people, will decide our own future - not Western vested interests, their double standards or any billionaire - Indian or American.
Starlink is licensed in over 165 countries and has spent five years complying with every single law and requirement of the government of India, so why still no license? Is Ambani the real boss of India?

We're all fine if Jio gets the first-mover advantage in satellite internet. The data stack must be in India. There shouldn’t be any question around that. After the H-1B issues, it's better we have our own backs. A capitalist from our country is better than an outsider any day.
Dear Prime Minister Ambani, Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India. Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete? There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better. Thank you 🙏

Remember those memes of the left wing and Dhruv Rathee trolling Modi about how he stopped the war? It has become a reality now Never bet against the Priest King 🥵
Ukraine has rejected the U.S. ceasefire proposal but is willing to consider India’s proposal, says Foreign Minister Sybiha. Meanwhile, Putin praises PM Modi’s peace efforts and says Modi has “very good ideas.” India’s foreign policy is operating at a whole new level right now. What are your thoughts on this?

Random German lab appears from nowhere and drops SOTA open-weight model Beats Qwen, Mistral, Nematron models with similar active parameter count Trained from stratch
Small bird, fast wings, Kolibri is here. 78B parameters. 3.46B active. Up to 1M tokens of context. Built in Europe. Now the weights are yours. Run it on your own hardware, under Apache 2.0.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
x.com/kimmonismus/st… It beats older generation models and already obsolete nemotron 3 super and mistral 4 small(not even 3.5 medium) and it beats Qwen 3.6 35B a3b(which is very small) not current gen Qwen 3.8 27B and flash next. And the benchmarks are selective, they do not demonstrate coding, etc.
