Loved CDC Huskie Green Peas this year. Everything in the stats was true. Stood well, green seed retention was a checkmark, low seed coat breakage. Yield of 45 bu/ac after hot July. Wins in my books. We have a good certified seed supply for 2027. rvt.saskpulse.com/varieties/…

Under the definition of traitor, who would be the traitor. Somebody who’s loyal to the place they live or the people who want to join the EU and China?

CCA General Manager Ryder Lee appeared before the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry as it studied the Pest Control Products Act amendments in Bill C-31, the Budget 2025 implementation bill. He voiced CCA's support for the changes, noting that a science-based, risk-proportionate review system means producers can get safe, effective products in a timely way, the same ones their U.S. and global competitors already use.
Ryder also urged senators to support Livestock Price Insurance, a key CCA ask for Budget 2026 that would help producers manage price risk. On trade, he made clear that CCA opposes any additional beef access for Mercosur.

This Canadian woman was given MAID as her only choice for stage 4 cancer in Deathcare Canada. She went to the US and death was not the option the doctors there gave her.
Canadian healthcare used to be good, it is now in desperate fear of collapse. They're bringing in doctors who did not study in Canada and whatever else that entails.
I find the healthcare in the US unquestionably superior. Health insurance is the same since I don't pay income tax in Florida, I pay it on insurance. There is immediate, private healthcare if you need it.
Medically assisted suicide is not an option they offer.
Our @Maizex 1231 grain corn dry land starting to get dented. Year 2 trial. 82 bu/ac last year. Want this to fit for rotation and market flexibility. Any other dryland corn guys in SW Sask?

So.. I spent all day figuring out how these rising fuel costs are impacting farmers during harvest. What I found is very alarming. These rising fuel costs need to end. This is just for ONE combine. Not even trucks, grain carts, or grain drying.
Few notes:
1. I took a Class 7-8 combine and used 70L/hr as an average baseline.
2. For 2025, I used $1.10/L for bulk farm fuel. For 2026, I am using an estimate of the increase due to the cost at the pump getting up to $2.10/L today.
3. I used 8 hours of harvest a day (would be nice!) and a 30-day harvest.
4. This is an extremely variable calculation due to conditions in the field and yields.
5. Imagine if I would've ran the numbers using an X9's fuel consumption....

Can you believe that Google Maps changed the names of Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway and Langevin Block in Ottawa?!
How dare they!
Oh wait, we’ve been doing this dumb renaming stuff to ourselves for the last decade!

AAC Coldfront hard red winter wheat cleaned and ready. Germ test will be done in a couple days. Great variety for the prairies. We averaged 75 bu/ac on this years production where we’re getting 40-50 durum yields. Contact us if you are interested in certified seed. @SeCan
So everyone came in with unreasonable demands. Neither side sounds like they were dealing in good faith.

Warning to all those around farmers during this harvest:
- We often forget what day it is as the list of things to do in our head often takes precedent over normal thinking
- We might be crabby or overly giddy depending on how the crop is yielding that day
- If a combine suddenly stops in the field we may stare at it begrudgingly while swearing under our breath till it moves again
- You can tell how our day is going by how oily and dirty our clothes are
- All types of grain may randomly fall out of our pockets and pant cuffs as we walk by
- The “harvest hat” may get hard to look at by the end but no worries, it will share the same fate as the last few bushels of grain through the combine!
And finally we all know that some days will be held together by #9 wire and binder twine so please bear with us as we may smile uncontrollably in those fleeting moments when it’s all going smoothly…
