Somewhere along the way, “Can he love?” became “Can he provide?” And “Can he provide?” became “How much does he have?”
So, what does a man actually owe a woman: provision, protection, partnership, a lifestyle?
And when does expectation become entitlement?
This Saturday, @FahadAmirN and @GODFREY_Kutesa are exchanging thoughts.
WHAT DOES A MAN OWE A WOMAN?
Rethinking Provision, Partnership & Entitlement.

Nassasria is saying poor man shouldn’t date.
Nwagi is saying her baby daddy only sent a success card with money when their daughter was going to do exams.
Makula is saying if a man’s renting don’t put hopes in him.
We’ve been bombarded. The microphones have been hijacked by the wrong voices aimed at weakening men and misdirecting the girl child but we won’t keep quiet abt this.
A message must be sent out diluting all these narratives. Men shouldn’t be seen as money making machines who’re there to satisfy female “egoism” in the name of provision.
This battle has started and the lines have been drawn.
Men must fight to get back up.

Our Camp lessons just got better.
See how we have upgraded and now have work books.
This morning our lesson started in Good Friends Bad Friends. And it’s been awesome. Boys in Tanzania love to follow well.

On Saturday last week,
I told my boys that came to have lunch with me , about the importance of grabbing opportunities. While at school never miss any opportunity to become a leader or to lead on anything. That’s what makes you better than a you were.

Yesterday I saw people shocked that @Uber is leaving Uganda 🇺🇬.
I told you this already, that Uganda can’t sustain a serious international company. In addition to the poor political environment, our society is full of thievery. Tuli babbi nnyo, atte twagala nnyo ebintu bya makoona.
Let’s look at some examples.
Remember Game Stores?
A person cud go to Game to buy a fridge and the attendant who’s paid to attend to you comes and tells you not to buy from Game. He tells you to go buy the fridge in Industrial Area at a shop where they’ll give him a commission. Imagine this. One time I was looking for a blender, and the guy started saying these ones are too expensive and they’re not good. He sent me to a muyindi who had a shop next door. So I wondered, how can we be this dishonest and still want to be rich? How do you decampaign a company that’s paying you a salary every month?
Imagine a company loses 50 customers every day by ur word of mouth , how will it be able to stand?
Now Uber operates on a service of honesty, but guess what happens: you book a ride, and the Uber guy says, “let’s talk off app.” What’s that?? The ride is Shs 34,000 and the guy says give me Ugx 50,000. What would the customer do? Of course they’ll run away, because they’re sensing a level of dishonesty. In Europe where Uber is operating, you can’t hear a rider telling you useless things of “let’s talk off app.” Such societies have a level of honesty ingrained in them. You pay for what u see. In fact, money is deducted without you saying a word. Ugandans still have a long way to go. We’re not employable. Tuli bakumpannya nnyo.
You give someone a role to speak to your clients and two months down the road he has diverted them to another business. Some people are evil enough to even create a subsidiary company inside yours. You pay them all benefits, but they are your competitors.
Speak about banks and loan officers. They come begging you to get a loan. You accept, and the loan officer starts playing on your mind. A loan applied for is 40 million, they give you 35 million, you spend another five bribing the protocol to approve you. In the end you take home 30 million yet you have to pay back 40 million plus humongous interest.
A bank advertises a property for sale, then the bank people go around, call their people to bid, and they sell the property to themselves. Our society is full of thieves. This is one of the reasons Barclays sold out. Loans are not balancing. The loan officer tells the client to give him some money so the loan can be extended. Ok, let’s forget about banks. Let’s go to those cars auctioned at ARU (read the reverse 🔄).
ARU puts up an auction of cars, you pay for entry, and before you know it the officers have already manipulated the system in their favour.
When a company closes in Uganda but stays functional somewhere else, then we have to check ourselves. Put it in mind that in U.S , launched a new service for live video streaming for children rides. It lets a parent view a livestream of their child’s ride using the selfie camera on the driver’s phone. The parent is notified in the Uber app when a livestream is available and both the child and the driver are alerted when the parent tunes in. Ffe Tuli enno mu “bi off app”
Which reasonable person or company can invest in such a dirty Uganda, full of mistrust? We’re not employable, and we will stay poor until we can become a more honest society.
Goodbye Uber. You’re not the first to try and won’t be the last to leave.

Saturday lunch with Mentee Abdul turned into one of those conversations that sticks with u.
He was full of school stories, but one really stood out, he’s been wrestling with math lately. Naturally, I told him I used to struggle with it too, that it was one of my weaknesses. He cut me off before I could even finish. “Mine isn’t a weakness,” he said. “It’s something I can improve.” Wow.
I asked him what his plan was. Without missing a beat, he said, “Understanding the question before I answer. Most of the time I was rushing, and I realized that was my fault. I want to slow down.” I sat there genuinely impressed kubanga this kid had already diagnosed exactly what was holding him back.
It hit me: the biggest failure most of us carry isn’t the mistake itself, it’s that we never stop to ask where we’re actually going wrong. Mentee Abdul reminded me of something simple bt powerful knowing what makes u fail is the first step toward success.
Proud of you, my boy Mentee Abdul.
See u in December Boot Camp and I hope you’ll do well like you did last year.
Here’s to a strong next term.

Goodmorning @IamTheSparrow.
This morning I woke up with a crazy idea. An idea that says the Uganda Penal Code should be one of the Subjects taught to boys at an early stage maybe between 11-16.
Am thinking of creating a lighter version for this subject such that as boys grow they’re aware of the consequences that come from their actions. In that way , we help create a more disciplined society.
Tell me what you think.

Every week am looking forward to watching @elisonk conversations on Justice & the dynamics of the law.
I find such podcasts educating and worth giving time. The number of brilliant legal brains he sits down with to dissect the law and explain things that initially didn’t make sense to me is amazing .
What a great initiative.
I direct everyone in the TRIBE OF STRONG MEN to follow @JSConversations
Go there a watch past discussions and learn something. Remember an iron sharpens an iron. A good man must be a “sharpened blade” ready to cut without missing.

The Audacity:
When you’re starting out, pple despise you. When you grow and master your craft, they envy you. And when you prove that their hate has no effect on you they bme jealous.
The other day I saw a failed Twitter idiot laughing at Nova mbu for organizing a UOX live debate on NBS. That same idiot was shipped to China to study medicine, failed at it , came back, and is now just floating nothing on the ground to show for it. Not even a clinic is registered in his name. Ali kuno ayasama bwasami.
Meanwhile, he was mocking a man who has changed the narrative of Twitter.
The Nova he was mocking has advocated for policies. Organized workshops. Championed community development campaigns. Led obituary programs. Planned tournaments. Brought disagreeing parties to agreement. The young man has done almost everything a stable, grounded leader does.
How do you even find the energy to mock someone like that?
UOX, you assume too much importance.
Someone laughs at u and questions your initiative yet given a chance can’t do a quarter of what you’ve done, even if they gathered their entire clan.
One time I saw this fool called Kojjo aka mudangalavu (a name for a village drunkard) advising Wekesa about tourism. 😳But How?
It didn’t make sense. A man with no real job, struggling to feed himself, giving advice abt tourism to someone who’s been in the business for 33+ yrs , turning over close to USD 1.2 million a year.
I looked at Mudanagalavu, posting nonsense and I asked , where do you get this stupid confidence?
Another time, a nincompoop on Twitter was advising me on how to run a mentorship program. It was actually good advice but I asked him first: go organize a village mentorship program. Apply that knowledge there and we will talk again. Bcse riyale let’s be honest if you can’t run an LC-level program, where do u get the confidence to advise someone operating at national and international level?
Busiru kikaaki obwo? Mulekere awo okwewanika
Anyway saagala kulandagga… kankome awo.
But my boy Nova, I am so proud of you.
You are a true leader from the Tribe of Strong Men. Thank you for leading the way.
