Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit to be the 29th Chief of the Air Staff
Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, PVSM, AVSM, VM, VSM, presently Vice Chief of the Air Staff, will assume the appointment of Chief of the Air Staff in the rank of Air Chief Marshal on 31 October 2026.
An Experimental Test Pilot and Qualified Flying Instructor, Air Marshal Dixit has over 3,500 hours of flying experience and has held several key operational and strategic appointments, including CISC, HQ IDS and AOC-in-C, Central Air Command.
He will succeed Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh on completion of his tenure.
The Indian Air Force welcomes the appointment of its next Chief.

A landmark achievement in the battle to eliminate Naxalism. Today, in an operation in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, our security forces have neutralized 27 dreaded Maoists, including Nambala Keshav Rao, alias Basavaraju, the general secretary of CPI-Maoist, topmost leader, and the backbone of the Naxal movement. This is the first time in three decades of Bharat's battle against Naxalism that a general secretary-ranked leader has been neutralized by our forces. I applaud our brave security forces and agencies for this major breakthrough.
Also glad to share that after completion of Operation Black Forest, 54 Naxalites have been arrested and 84 Naxalites have surrendered in Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Maharashtra.
The Modi government is resolved to eliminate Naxalism before the 31st of March 2026.

In a display of keen vigilance, BSF troops apprehended a Pakistani intruder near the International Border in Amritsar last evening. On noticing suspicious movement, the alert troops acted swiftly to apprehend the individual, who was found carrying Rs. 330 Pakistani currency. He was handed over to local police after initial questioning.
Further, in two separate operations today, acting on intelligence inputs, BSF troops recovered 02 DJI Mavic 3 Classic drones near the Ferozepur border. One was recovered in a farming field near village Palha Megha, while the other was found stuck in the border fence near village Gendu Kilcha. Both drones are believed to have crashed due to robust electronic countermeasures deployed by BSF.
These actions reflect the high alertness, swift response, and technical strength of BSF in thwarting cross-border threats and smuggling attempts, reaffirming its commitment to securing the nation's borders
