Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Xabi Alonso as Manager of the Men’s Team.
The Spaniard will begin his role on July 1, 2026, having agreed a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
Welcome to Chelsea, Xabi!
To the residents of Walham Green, it’s been a privilege and an honour to have served as your local councillor for the past 4 years. I will be standing down on 7 May at the next local elections.
My statement below 👇🏾
The conservative H&F opposition making empty promises they certainly can’t deliver on. - they cannot be taken seriously on 7 May.

This piece has now been updated with a substantial comment from the Green councillors.
Last summer two councillors made Hammersmith and Fulham history by defecting from Labour to the Green Party. Since then? Just one meeting attended each. Neither are standing in this May's elections. mylondon.news/news/west-lond…

With a heavy heart, I’ve resigned from the Labour Party.
My commitment to our community remains unshakable. I’ll keep fighting for fairness & social justice – just not within Labour.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported me on this journey. ❤️

This is huge. 3 more London councillors leave Labour and join @TheGreenParty.
We're now on more councils than the Lib Dems in London.
Labour - you're next.
Today @ZackPolanski welcomed Victoria Hornsby, Faruk Choudhury and Moin Quadri, 3 councillors who today left Labour and joined the Greens creating the opposition on Barking & Dagenham Council.

(First defection of my leadership and made even more brilliant that it's the wonderful @Martin_Abrams!)
UK‼️Councillor @Martin_Abrams joins @TheGreenParty.

Attended an emergency mtg w/ Lancaster Ct residents & council officers re: Ravensworth & Swan Ct window issues yesterday.
Conveniently timed after BBC news coverage.
HF Labour have taken their eye off the ball, failing residents, and drowning in complacency. 🥀
I have today written to Cllr Frances Umeh, H&F’s Cabinet Member for Housing, demanding answers on the 12 years of HF Labour’s housing failure.
£1m a week spent, yet tenants are still living in cold, unsafe homes, and having to use duct tape to secure their windows 👇🏾
Trey Campbell-Simon retweeted
“One resident in Fulham uses duct tape to try to make their windows safer”
That’s the reality of Labour-run Hammersmith & Fulham’s “commitment” to council housing after 14 years in power.
Broken homes, broken promises. #HFLabourAreFailing
