A lot of our Cllrs are members of @ACORNunion and know how vital this motion was. Shame all Labour Cllrs voted against but not surprising
Nottingham Labour voted AGAINST this tonight 👇 There is a strong argument for Rent Controls but tonight it was voted down 😢 We will continue to fight for our residents, who are private renters, to ensure they have a safe, secure place to call home.

This kind of hateful behaviour has become far too common. Many councillors and grassroots members have faced the same bullying, intimidation, and disrespect from the Keir Starmer–led centrist faction. A senior Labour official 👇

Jamie Driscoll is one of the most competent people we’ve had in local government in this country over the last 15 years. It doesn’t hurt that he actually had a career outside politics and using words (he was engineer). Completely insane if he’s no longer in the Your Party tent.

This. Always this. Any Labour member who goes along with this is no socialist, no friend of the working class, no helper to the most vulnerable families in their communities. It’s a disgrace and they know it. But hey, keep paying those subs…
❗️NEW: scrapping the 2-child limit could lift 4 MILLION people out of poverty. Hunger and hardship impacts families, children, communities AND the UK’s economy. Tackling it is simply the right thing to do.

“parliamentary selections in many cases have been ruthlessly fixed to parachute allies of the elite into safe seats that often they rely upon a satnav to find.Members of the PLP are looked upon simply as bothersome lobby fodder” The article absolutely reasonates here in Broxtowe
As the dust slowly settles on Starmer’s worst day in office it’s time to take stock, take in the big picture & ask - how did we get here? If you read one article today to try & make sense of what’s happened to our party read this by John McDonnell. 👇theguardian.com/commentisfre…

Exactly this.
Once the slaughter is over, and it has to be over, there is an expectation that Palestinians should move on regardless of the lives lost, of the limbs lost, of the loved ones lost.   There is an expectation that parents will walk the earth with the shadow of their killed children and do nothing about it. The children who are orphaned will hold onto the memory of their parents but not to the anger over how they were killed. There is an expectation that a nation will be able to move on from the reality of parents carrying their children’s remains in plastic bags, of families buried under the rubble or in the sand they found shelter in after everything else was destroyed. That we will be able to move on as a nation from the images of burning children, of starving infants, of the impact that bombs left behind, on the lives of many Palestinians, on their scarred bodies, in their hearts and minds, of the impact that a single bullet lodged in the child’s head or heart has over an entire family forever. We said long ago, we made a choice, to seek justice not vengeance, but we cannot be prevented from seeking either. We cannot continue to be denied our right to life, to liberty, to dignity. We cannot be denied recourse and reparation.   No one has a rightful claim to supremacy, to exceptionalism, to domination, to oppression, no one.

Exactly this 👇. Dodging isn’t right but let’s get the biggest dodgers first - they don’t like it when it’s pointed out that they’re ripping you off the most.
Interesting Fact of the Day: If Robert Jenrick were to catch 50 fare dodgers a day, recouping £2.90 each time for the taxpayer, it would take him well over 1,000 years to recoup the amount the taxpayer lost when he helped a major Tory donor avoid a £45m tax bill back in 2020.

It’s no contest. The most dishonest politician of my lifetime. Much, much worse than Johnson. The liberal media have destroyed any remaining credibility after championing this guy as a pillar of morality. I’ve never met someone who lies this much.

This working class woman, after 40 years in the Labour Party, was disciplined & banned by them from standing for County Council. Because she spoke out about the Winter Fuel Allowance. She resigned. Today she took the seat from the Labour Group Leader ✊
