But other sugar maples are threatened inc. A. binzayadii (Mexico) & A. skutchii (Guatemala, Mexico). They are both CR in the wild due to small population size & continuing population decline from habitat loss and #climatechange. Find out more - bit.ly/2FPfR3q
North America, is a hotspot for maple diversity & is home to maple syrup producing Acer trees (or sugar maples) inc. the Sugar (A. saccharum), the Black (A. nigrum) and the Red Maple (A. rubrum). These 3 species are widespread & assessed as Least Concern in the wild (1/2)
