A reminder that basketball is all about matchups.
2-seed Michigan women just beat 3-seed Louisville 71-52. Michigan lost regular season games by just 3 pts to UConn 72-69 (Huskiesā closest game of the season), UCLA 72-69, and Vanderbilt 69-66.

A little news on this Friday morning. Youāll start seeing certain @IHSAA championships on @IowaPBS this fall.
We are excited to announce that for the first time ever, three @IHSAA championships in football, wrestling, and basketball are coming to Iowa PBS. bit.ly/4btD7hS
Pretty good time to be a fan of both @WartburgWBBALL and @IowaWBB.

Shout out to @IowaWBB for their message to our women's basketball team as they prepare for their Final Four game tomorrow! The Knights will play Smith College on Thursday, March 14, at 5 p.m. eastern time at the Capital Center Performance Arena in Columbus, Ohio. š
Whether itās reviewable by current rule or not, it shouldnāt be. If you arenāt confused by the motion (or donāt catch it) in real timeā¦then itās not gaining an unfair advantage. If thatās reviewable, then letās review holding and PI situationsā¦that actually DO impact plays.
Two things can be true:
Early on, the officials took the air out of what could and should have been an amazing game. Little consistency. Injected themselves needlessly.
LSU shot lights out and took this one. It was just their day.
Unforgettable season, @IowaWBB. Thank you.
It's #UKnightDay! So grateful for my time and experiences at @WartburgCollege, and I'm proud to join other Knights (family and friends included) to show our support today! Join me at uknightday.wartburg.edu
Yikes. Offensive nightmare for the Hawkeyes. That perfect storm wonāt happen very often. And still, they had a chance to win or at least send to OT in the final seconds. Definitely a disappointing way to finishā¦but a fun team and a great season regardless.
Today was a reminder of just how damn good Pete Williams is at his job for @NBCNews. Easily one of the best beat reporters in DC - on any beat, for any news organization.
Sure, Scott Frost is a creative, offensive-minded coach. But the ability to be risky, aggressive, adventurous in certain situations today is an opportunity you earn with 1-7, 3-8 records. Nothing to lose.
Did I just get a little misty-eyed watching Kevin Costner and the MLB players walk out of the Iowa corn onto the field? Sure did. What a cool scene and great sports moment. #FieldOfDreams

RE: @IAGovernor push to ban trans athletes
Saw someone add to a story that Caitlyn Jenner also supports a ban. 1) You donāt need to include that. 2) If you do, you should also mention that Jenner has competed in a womenās golf tournament.
It's #UKnightDay! What number will you be? Use this link to join us in this fun and important effort to support @WartburgCollege!

Agreed. Matchups matter a ton in a single-elimination tournament. Styles. Personnel. Youāve gotta have the right game plan and execute it. Unfortunately, the Big Tenās best didnāt do that. Are they bad teams? No. Just not a good tournament. Very disappointing. But it happens.

No matter what your connection is to Wartburg ā an alum like @TravisGraven, parents like @tombuchheim & @JillBuchheim or a student like Makayla ā there's LOTS of reasons to be part of #UKnightDay this Thursday! š§”

Definitely worth giving @DrakeADHardin kudos. Great hires, and doing whatever he can to keep them! But I think itās also important to remember @drakepresident spent 10 years at Gonzaga before coming to Drake. A big basketball fan who gets it. Canāt hurt to have that support.

Gard and any others complaining about the @bigten officiating in todayās @BadgerMBB loss to @IowaHoops is pretty rich, considering what Wisconsin has gotten away with FOR YEARS. Welcome to being treated like any olā basketball team and being penalized accordingly.
