Well Written is OUT of the Golden Eagle next week.
Has spiked a temperature so obviously not right and team will not press on.
When she is back to full health will return home to NZ for a spell and owners to assess next targets.
Really interesting comparisons re Ka Ying Rising's First 400m sections in Hong Kong and Randwick Saturday.
How's this for a stat regarding Ka Ying Rising on Saturday - taking people's benchmarks out of it and just looking at hist raw first 400m times in seconds from his last 5 x 1200m races in Hong Kong, versus Saturday.
✳️ His last 5 at Hong Kong first 400m [ 23.27, 24.16, 24.03, 23.85, 23.42] - all on Good or Good to Firm tracks.
✳️ On Saturday, they asked him to go 23.11 and he was still 1.7L off the lead at the 800m. This is on a genuine Dead 4 track, but with a ~30kmh tailwind behind them early.
I don't think Zac was ever getting to the front, despite what many of us made of it on the day using our eye!
There's a new version of this post

I just spoke to Bob Peters who reported Cosmic Crusader has pulled up well following his run in the Sportsbet Caulfield Cup.
He will wait until Tuesday morning before deciding if he pays up for the $6 Million Ladbrokes Cox Plate.

Half Yours update: our boy is back in his stable at Flemington having been cared for by the veterinarian and our team.
From the McEvoy Team, we share our sincere condolences to Ohope Wins’ connections and the Waller Racing Team 🧡🤍💙

Half Yours sustained lacerations and abrasions and was treated by on course veterinarians after falling in the Caulfield Cup. He will return to his stables where he will be attended to by the stable veterinarian. RV will follow up with the stable in coming days.
Doubt Time finished 3rd in the Blue Sapphire Stakes today.
Trainer @nryanracing, happy with the run considering the pattern of the day. Full steam ahead to the Coolmore Stud Stakes now in 2 weeks @FlemingtonVRC. May use Blinkers next run.

Few words can express our current emotions. Our wonderful Ohope Wins was sadly brought down in today's Caulfield Cup, and despite all efforts from the on-course veterinarians, could not be saved.
A dual Oaks winner and Champion in her native New Zealand, Ohope Wins was a true star of the turf, but to the people who looked after her everyday, she was so much more.
She was brave. She was kind. She was full of character. But more importantly, she was loved.
Our hearts go out to all involved throughout her career, especially those who cared for her on a daily basis.
Thank you for all the kind messages.
