Another very interesting and engaging meeting last night. What a group of smart people! All with such useful ideas and advice about websites.
Lovely blog by @GeckoEdit about @The_CIEP Cloud Club and @SubvCopyEd’s virtual visit. It was a great meeting.
Want to know the 3 tops tips @SubvCopyEd Carol Saller shared with one of the CIEP's international cloud-based networking groups? Our member Katherine Kirk has summarised it beautifully. Read it here. 👉 j.mp/3jX6pZZ
Yes, do come and join @The_CIEP! It’s so welcoming and supportive. As our chair, @JPS_Editing, said the other day, whoever you are , you’re welcome and there’s a place for you.
The CIEP wishes all our members, friends and sister organisations over the globe a wonderful November. May the words you're working with zing and pop! 🎆🎇 To find out more about joining us, visit our membership page. j.mp/38aO216 We'd love to welcome you!
It certainly was inspiring, informative and welcoming. Many of your Toronto group pals were there and agree, yet another reason to join @The_CIEP! Plus many other reasons.

It really is an excellent place to find the best editorial professionals.
Professor Lynne Murphy discusses why the CIEP's Directory of Editorial Services is a great place to search for a good-fit editor. Watch the video to find out more. j.mp/3oQxoK8
Excellent advice here from our own @MayaBerger, who has been on one heck of a roll this summer!

Our friend colleague @HelenSaltedit attended – virtually – the @SENSEtheSociety conference. Here's her round up of 6 sessions, and some excellent takeaways.
Making SENSE - virtually! My latest blog post features highlights of the recent @SENSEtheSociety online conference, a fab event organised by @Translatext_ and her team: bit.ly/2CQXIQY
Includes sessions by @SciTexts, @TiinaKin & @MariekeGent #SENSE2020
More cool things about @The_CIEP @TorontoCIEP members: congratulations to our friend and colleague @VickiGladwish on having completed the @RyersonU publishing program. Well done, Victoria!
Pleased to have completed the program at RU and receive the accreditation! Now, onto my upgrade application to @The_CIEP @TorontoCIEP Ever onward. 😀🥂
Another cool thing in the list of @TorontoCIEP members' cool things: our lovely, lively and wholly engaged @_adrineh_ in now an Intermediate Member of @TorontoCIEP. Congrats, Adrineh! Well done.
If you're a @The_CIEP member in South Cardiff/Wales, or even vaguely thereabouts, your local group is meeting via Zoom, like most other CIEP groups. Don't miss out on the CPD, support and, yes, fun. Attending will boost your knowledge and your spirits.
CIEP South Wales/Cardiff local group. Currently holding regular meetings via Zoom! You can find out more about the group here: ciep.uk/networking/local/gro…
As @_adrineh_ (another @The_CIEP's member) says, @MayaBerger's tips apply to many freelancers. One of Maya's tips is about taking solace in your community. We all love our @TorontoCIEP community. Support, encouragement, learning/CPD, networking & friendship, plus more, all in one
Some great tips here by @MayaBerger that apply to many freelancers, not just editors. Key takeaways: don't underestimate yourself, and find solace in your community.
And talking of cool things, the whole @TorontoCIEP group (with a few members of @The_CIEP's Cloud Club East) will be enjoying a Q&A with the wonderful Carol Saller (@SubvCopyEd) at this evening's meeting. We're all excited! We have a number of other fabulous speakers lined up
As we've just said, @The_CIEP @TorontoCIEP's Maya Berger (@MayaBerger) is on a roll of doing cool things. Here she is on the EditingPodcast, talking about editing erotica and adult literature. Do have a listen. player.captivate.fm/episode/…
Our @MayaBerger really is on a run of doing all sorts of cool things! Here's her blog post on four things she wishes she'd known when starting out her freelance life: editorstorontoblog.com/2020/…
It was another great meeting (as usual). It really is a a kind, support and knowledgable group – typical of @The_CIEP.
Great Zoom meeting with fellow @TorontoCIEP members last night! I am grateful for the learning and sharing with this group of smart women (I say this because only women attended last night).
Here's @JuliaWordFire's take on the mastermind group/accountability group she's a member of. She calls it a group of friends, which is exactly what such a group needs to be. Her group has been going for more than three years. All members are @The_CIEP APMs.
What do you call a gang of editors that support each other? A mastermind group? Accountability group? Friends? blog.ciep.uk/accountability-…
Excellent advice as to where to find specialist editors who are top-notch. All of them thoroughly vetted as to training, experience, CPD, etc. @The_CIEP directory: ciep.uk/directory
You will find the specialist editor you need in the directory of @The_CIEP
If you are interested in editing as a career, but wonder if it's for you, here's an online course with @QueensProS that will help you learn the basics of what a copy editor does. It won't make you copy editor, but it will help you work out if it's the job for you.
