An AI fitness guy called Zane Mercer got 237.9K followers and 5.5M likes on TikTok, and now brands are sending him real headphones to review... His long black hair always covers his eyes, his arms look way too big for a real human, and he wears the same black shirt with a chain on his belt in every single video. In this clip he unboxes a gaming headset, stretches the headband, squeezes the ear cushions and tells you the price is “a steal”. It looks exactly like a normal TikTok Shop review, and most people in the comments don’t even care that the guy holding the box doesn’t exist. When I scrolled through his profile, I noticed that his videos are split into two types. Some of them are pure memes about McDonald’s, Tesla drivers and traffic lights, and their only job is to bring new followers. The others are product videos, and their job is to turn those followers into money. On top of that, his bio sells a playbook that teaches people how to make videos like his. So one character that was never born makes money in 3 different ways at the same time. Honestly, I think this is one of the smartest AI account models I’ve seen this year, because it fixes the biggest problem that real creators have. A real creator has to film every review, he gets tired, he gets sick, and sometimes he simply doesn’t want to work with a brand. An AI character can review 10 products in one day, never complains and always looks exactly the same... And I’m pretty sure brands don’t really care if the creator is real. They care if people stop scrolling, watch until the end and click the link. This story shows me something important: the money isn’t in one viral video, it’s in a face that people remember. Zane works because you recognize him in one second, even though you never see his eyes. That’s why I build my own characters the same way. First I pick one strong detail that people will remember, then I create a reference sheet in Higgsfield so the face never changes from clip to clip, and after that I put the character into simple memes until one of them goes viral. I only start putting real products in the character’s hands when there is a real audience behind him. If you start selling too early, people feel it right away and stop watching, and I think this is the mistake that kills most AI accounts before they even grow.
