While harvest is still underway, our tillage team is already hard at work preparing the ground for 2027!
A successful crop starts long before the first seed goes in the ground. Grateful for this hardworking team and the important work they do behind the scenes to set us up for another growing season.

There’s something about this song that just fits farming. A little grit, a whole lot of pride, and a deep appreciation for the people who put in the work every single day.
Grateful for our hardworking team who keeps us rolling, acre after acre.

If there’s one thing you can count on during harvest, it’s that plans can change in a hurry!
We started the morning in soybeans, but moisture levels had other plans for us. So, we switched gears and moved all 3 combines from soybeans to corn!
That’s harvest season for you! Staying flexible, making adjustments, and keeping the machines rolling. Thankfully, we have a great team that knows how to shift gears and get the job done!
Different crop, same goal… keep those bushels rolling!

First day of commercial harvest is in the books!
After working through a couple of software issues, the equipment ran well, the team worked hard, and we were pleasantly surprised to see lower moistures than we anticipated.
There’s always a little fine-tuning when harvest gets rolling, but we’re thankful for a good start and ready to keep moving.
Here’s to a safe and successful harvest!

Fertilizer prices are a major concern for farmers right now — but are we asking the right questions about what’s driving those costs?
In his latest AgWeb op-ed, Kip shares a perspective shaped by years of traveling the global fertilizer supply chain, visiting production facilities and talking directly with the people behind the industry. His message: before we place blame, we need to better understand the global forces, supply chains and realities that determine what farmers ultimately pay.
It’s an important conversation for agriculture, especially in a year when every input dollar matters.

Seed corn harvest is rolling at Tom Farms! 🌽
We’ve had a few rain delays along the way, but that’s farming. You make a plan, Mother Nature makes hers, and you adjust accordingly.
When conditions are right, we’re back at it, harvesting the crop we’ve spent all season growing and caring for. There’s nothing quite like seeing it all come together.
Rain delays and all, harvest season is still one of our favorite times of the year.

American agriculture is about so much more than what we grow. 🌽🇺🇸
In his latest Agri-Pulse opinion piece, Kip shares why America’s agricultural strength is one of our greatest strategic advantages — creating food security, strengthening economies and opening opportunities for American farmers around the world.
Innovation has transformed what we can accomplish on farms like ours, and that same innovation can have an impact far beyond our fields.

#TodayAtTomFarms — And so it begins!
A soft start to seed corn harvest today as we got equipment rolling, worked out the kinks and sent the first loads down the road to Bayer in Remington IN.
Tomorrow is the first official day of Seed Corn Harvest 2026, and we’re ready!
There’s just something about seeing that first field come out after a season of work.
Harvest mode: ON.

Big progress for American agriculture!
USDA has officially released its Data Modernization Plan, outlining a path forward for modernizing how agricultural data is collected, analyzed and reported through NASS.
We’re incredibly proud to see Kip Tom helping lead this effort, bringing a farmer’s perspective directly to the table and advocating for a system that better reflects the technology, data and realities of agriculture today.
The plan focuses on reducing the burden on producers, improving acreage and yield estimates through tools like satellite imagery and precision agriculture data, integrating technology across USDA, and — perhaps most importantly — rebuilding trust and transparency with America’s farmers.
Accurate, timely data matters. It influences markets, marketing decisions and ultimately the bottom line for farmers across the country.
There is still plenty of work ahead, but this is an exciting step toward making USDA agricultural data the gold standard once again — and making sure farmers have a strong voice in how we get there.
Proud to see Kip helping lead the way. 🇺🇸

There are some moments you simply have to experience. 🇺🇸
Thursday night, Vann Morris delivered his powerful presentation of “Old Glory”…and you could have heard a pin drop.
Standing together on the farm, surrounded by friends, family, farmers, veterans and members of our community, his words were an incredible reminder of what our flag represents: sacrifice, courage, freedom and the generations of Americans who have defended it.
As we celebrate America’s 250th, this was a moment we won’t soon forget.
Thank you, Vann, for sharing your incredible gift with us and reminding us why Old Glory still means so much. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
Turn the sound up for this one.

For too long, we have been relying on outdated, insufficient farm data.
Flying blind is not an option.
I can’t think of anyone better than Kip Tom to lead the modernization of our crop reporting system and fix this mess.

Just another box to check before harvest! 🌽
Today we’re chopping the tops off the female seed corn, one more important step in the seed corn process as we get closer to the finish line.
Harvest will be here before we know it. Stay tuned… we’ll be rolling soon!

Exciting news from Oaken Ag!
We were an early adopter of Oaken, so it’s especially exciting to see them recognized as the 2026 Farm Management Innovation of the Year by AgTech Breakthrough!
Strong landowner relationships are incredibly important to us at Tom Farms, and Oaken has helped us bring technology and efficiency into the way we manage and communicate those relationships.
Congratulations to the entire Oaken team! We’re proud to have been along for the journey early on and excited to see what’s ahead!

What a great story to wake up to this morning! 🌾🇺🇸
So proud to see our fellow Soil Sister, Jennifer James, sharing her story and shining a light on the very real challenges facing American agriculture. Jennifer is a fourth-generation rice farmer from Arkansas, and her passion for her family farm and the future of agriculture comes through loud and clear.
I’m incredibly grateful to be part of this group of seven women farmers from across the country. Earlier this summer, we traveled to Washington, D.C. on our own dime and representing ourselves—not an organization or commodity group, to have honest conversations about what is happening on our farms. In just 2½ days, we held around 15+ meetings with lawmakers and agricultural leaders.
Different crops. Different states. Different challenges. But one shared goal: to make sure the voices of America’s farmers are heard.
Proud of Jennifer for continuing to tell the story and proud to call these women my Soil Sisters.
Great job, Jennifer!

Some moments remind us that the simplest dreams are often the most meaningful. ❤️
We were honored to welcome Allen to Tom Farms as part of Paddock Springs’ “Live A Dream” program. When asked what he wanted most, his answer wasn’t a vacation or a big event—it was simply, “I want to go work on the farm again.”
Allen spent years farming, and for one special day he was able to relive those memories. From climbing into a John Deere combine and visiting an old Farmall M, to touring the farm, seeing the cows, and swapping farming stories, it was a day none of us will forget.
We’re incredibly touched by this beautiful article in the Paddock Springs Press and grateful we could play a small part in making Allen’s dream come true. It’s a reminder that farming isn’t just what we do—it’s a way of life that leaves a lasting impact on so many.
Thank you, Allen, for sharing your story with us. It was truly our privilege.

Americans don't need another lecture about inflation; they need policies that make life more affordable.
When government gets out of the way and puts American producers first, families win at the checkout line.
That's the America First difference. 🇺🇸

The tassel may sit at the very top of the corn plant, but it has one of the biggest jobs.
This is where pollination begins. The tassel releases pollen that is carried by the wind to the silks, and each successful pollination has the potential to become a kernel of corn.
It’s a short but incredibly important stage of the growing season and one we’re always watching closely.
