My stance has always been this - as long as you are in the UK and still on a visa, you should not be buying a mortgage! Leave mortgage alone until you have your Permanent Residency. You are absolutely not missing out on anything

I defend care workers on this app and I have never worked in care. I honestly don’t like that some of them are doing the same thing we help them fight against. If it was bad when those people did it, then it is also bad if the care workers are doing it now.

When it was assumed it was only going to affect care workers, many were silent, even supported the policy with “it’s their country and they can do whatever they want” Now that it has affected Mr/Miss Data Analyst earning below 50k, it all of a sudden, doesn’t make sense.

There is no correlation btw. Let the carers celebrate however they want to. It’s just one win from so many setbacks goddamnit. And why do you want carers to stay silent when they talk down on them? Why would that make anyone happy?

One thing I have learnt about this immigration process is that, it is good to speak up- they follow up questions for Shabana was mostly about care visas, and that is because they spoke up, they are even more concerned that care workers are treated badly by their employers and the pay is poor.

You guys are just tweeting £50k - 5 years. It isn't that simple, to get 5 years exemption, you have to have earned £50k in the 3 years prior to applying for ILR, not that the moment you hit £50k your'e eligible
