I run a care company and pay above the national living wage.
British workers don’t apply for the jobs available and when they do, don’t want to work above a certain number of hours so their benefits aren’t affected.
#C4News report on migrants coming to the UK to work in the care sector because British people aren't applying for the jobs
Manager of the care home says there's nothing stopping British people from applying, but they don't
And there are still 110,000 vacancies in the care sector

I don’t like what I don’t like.
I got a letter demanding a payment and a penalty of £35 for a fuel I bought in June due to non-payment.
I often use pay by app mostly when buying fuel and authorise my card for payment. The app would indicate the hold was successful before I can draw fuel. Apparently the payment failed in June and I did not even know. Only to get letter in October.
Well ladies and gentlemen, I paid the fuel cost and the penalty and send them an email. They are now refunding the penalty with a goodwill gesture of £50.
I shouldn’t be punished for a situation that occurred out of the failure of an establishment to do their own part of the contract 😊

He’s not wrong. If anyone on the internet can incite and socially engineer you to cut off your siblings, spouses or source of income because of politicians, then you are a fool
No. I’ve not. What are you going to do about it? We are two completely different souls just sharing same blood. But what are you going to do about it? I’m curious.
Davido did his runway last 2 years
Sanwo-Olu did his runway this year
Probably Tony Elumelu will do his runway next year.
What are you going to do about it?

I don’t think there’s an easy student visa - > work visa > permanent resident route in France. It’s very hard.

Questions remain over two-tier approach. 👇

Labour’s Diane Abbott slams Labour’s Shabana Mahmood over her new settlement rules, asking how it can be fair to change the goalposts for people who came here legally, worked and built their lives expecting to qualify for permanent residency after five years.
Abbott welcomed the exemption for some care workers, but warned that other migrants already here could see their residency rights “turned upside down”.
She said the changes risk another Windrush-style injustice.
Mahmood rejected the claim that the changes are retrospective, arguing that governments must be able to change immigration rules and that settlement is decided under the rules in force when someone applies.
But for people who came here legally and planned their lives around the rules in place at the time, the distinction will offer little comfort. The government may call settlement “earned”; Abbott’s question is whether it is fair to move the finish line after people have already started the journey.
So a family of 5 will have to pay over £20k to renew their visa, what happens if your employer can’t renew your visa because employers are also finding it difficult to get COS allocation from home office, does that mean the years are wasted ? Will they necessarily have to be tied to an employer for that 10 years ?
This is unfair, there should be a transitional period for skilled workers.

Shabana Mahmood's parents came to this country from Kashmir because they would be treated fairly. Changing ILR rules halfway through for hardworking tax payers, I say, is not fair.

Guyy.
A lady corrected you, you threw tantrums, calling her all sort of names and setting your dogs on her, refunded a purchase she made anonymously, made and was kiki-ing under insensitive posts about women but somehow she's the victim.
Bro Ose, fear God.

I’m on a Skilled Worker visa and was due to qualify for permanent residency in March 2027 — just over 4 months away under the previous rules.
