Looks useful. Poly project from @TimothyStiles has a Golang pkg 'seqhash' (github.com/bebop/poly/tree/m…) as well, and seqkit has a 'sum' cmd for the whole fasta/q file, both supporting circular/linear, single/double-stranded seqs (bioinf.shenwei.me/seqkit/usa…). biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

I want to hire this kid.
I once gave a talk to a class of 9-10 year olds on morphogenetic plasticity. One raised his hand & asked: could we make a flying rhinoceros? I gave him the reasons why it was unlikely. Rightly shaming me for a lack of commitment, he said "so what, you're just giving up??!"

This is the best video to introduce a computational biology course. There will never be a better one xitter.cf/fan_of_gpu/status/1673…

it depends on the font size I know this because I worked on the prop team for that episode: I was responsible for typing and printing the genome

Do I need to eat microplastics with every meal? Or is it fine to just eat a whole lego set every few months?

Finally (well, minus the secret off-the-record talk), @TimothyStiles, Principal Software Engineer at Bebop.Bio wrapped things up with The Missing Software Package for Engineering Organisms. Ambitious!

why haven't we tried to engineer trees with brains yet what are we even doing as synthetic biologists

I am always delighted to run into #golang use cases that are beyond cloud native, web, or cli stuff. This podcast, on Go in medicine and biology with @TimothyStiles , from @GoTimeFM is a must listen. changelog.com/gotime/254
