I've never really understood the disdain for Vivek Ramaswamy. The new ad with Amy Acton's abusive mom has fixed that. If I were an Ohioan, that alone would be enough to swing my vote. No normal, well-adjusted human being with a basic understanding of social cues would do that.

The core fiscal issue in DC is that spending is on a trajectory that was set during the 15-year population boom that ran from 2004-2019. The top consideration in every issue — both tax and non-tax — should be how to return to that strong growth trend. capitalcommonsense.com/p/our…

Mine does get a bit musty.
I don't want you to panic but there's only two weeks left before Halloween if you haven't cleaned your bat yet.

"First time offender court" -- all ages -- is a much better concept than a juvenile court segregated by some arbitrary age.
Replying to @sprell @PeterMoskos
Don’t know if it works this way now, but police made station adjustments, or contacts but not put into Juvy system Sometimes kids had lots of contacts before they faced a judge My boss wished for a first time offender court

This is an example of waste fraud and abuse in government spending & why instead of a tax increase roundtable the council should be conducting a massive audit of the government, starting today.

I love that everyone is simultaneously pretending that they don’t understand what jokes are or when they are made. It’s cool.

Illinois is embarrassed by the number of career criminals caught reoffending after slaps on the wrist. But the legislature has come up with a solution. No, not a solution to the recidivism problem, but a solution to the judges-and-prosecutors-being-embarrassed-by-their-bad-decisions problem. A new law automatically seals the records of every criminal case (with minor narrow exceptions). This means that journalists can’t write stories like this unless they maintain their own parallel records of sentencing instances. This is unconstitutional. The public has a right to access to the court records, and a government can’t blanket seal such an overbroad category of cases. @HamLincLaw would love to bring that lawsuit to block this law, but we need a journalist or publication who can show that they’ll be affected by this law to have standing to do it. If that’s you, and you’re interested, DM or email me.

This is woke bullying disguised as sports opinion writing. There would be no problem if Sophie Cunningham had expressed a progressive opinion instead of a commonsense one held by the vast majority of Americans.
From @TheAthletic: If the Indiana Fever ever wants to go back to being a basketball team, Sophie Cunningham has to go, our columnist writes. "Cunningham is too combustible, her takes too turbulent to be paired with Caitlin Clark."  nyti.ms/4eiBPJ0

Kimberly Guilfoyle was preparing for her congressional hearing to become U.S. ambassador to Greece when she reached out to a Trump donor with an urgent request: She needed $100,000 that she said she owed American Express—in a way that wouldn’t leave a paper trail. “It won’t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express,” she wrote on Signal, according to messages reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. “Please.” w/@DanaMattioli @drewhinshaw @JoeWSJ wsj.com/politics/policy/guil…

When you think tough hard nosed just the facts ma’am career prosecutor who pursues the law without bias fear or favor you think of Letitia James, who, I want to be clear, is not I repeat NOT a hysterical laughably partisan media driven hack. This case is in good hands.
Tonight, I signed an executive order appointing Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor in the Cornell sexual assault case. New information has raised serious questions about how this case was handled, and I’ve lost faith in the Tompkins County DA’s ability to fairly oversee it. The young woman at the center of this case deserves to know that every fact will be examined and justice pursued.

It’s simpler than that. Those are network shows and Breaking Bad was a cable show you had to pay for. Also not an all ages show. This is literally comparing McDonalds to a fancy restaurant.
I could just say yeah man, elites have better taste. But what I'll actually say is that people will still be talking about and discovering Mad Men in 20 years but they won't still be talking about the Big Bang Theory because it was made to sell products, with no artistic ambition
