Thanks to @daniel_a_a at Timing for giving me the chance to talk about how I use Timing daily to help manage my time, and my ADHD.
Writing it gave me even more insight into how I was using it, and where I could further refine my strategies.
Go read it! 😄

I wasn’t unhappy with the horizontal timeline, but after using the new vertical one, I really love it. It makes such better use of the space. Thank you for the ongoing innovation and refinement!

We love Timing! I have been able to recover more billable time in a week or so than the cost of an annual Timing subscription.

I am always forgetting to start a timer. @TimingApp is a fully native macOS app which tracks all of your actions, so reverse-tracking is super easy.

I use @TimingApp to automatic time tracking on Mac.
It now integrates Apple's Screen Time and also includes activity from my phone and talet.
So with literally 0 effort I have a total breakdown of how I spend my time digitally

Great work to the team at @TimingApp. This is a big win for determining where all my time is spent.

6. Timing also lets you quickly convert your app usage into time entries, allowing you to "annotate" what you did on your mobile devices. This provides you with a much more "durable" way of remembering how you spent your time than just seeing your "top apps".

5. Screen Time only gives you per-domain and per-app stats, but it doesn't show you _what_ you did. With Timing, you can also categorize your mobile activities into projects. This gives you a better overview of where your time goes, especially in the long term.

4. Screen Time will only show you the _domain_ of websites you visited in Mobile Safari. Timing shows you the full URLs of the websites you visited, letting you e.g. check which exact article you've been reading.

3. Screen Time deletes your data after roughly 30 days. Timing keeps your Screen Time data around for as long as you want it to, so you can spot longer-term trends in the data.

2. Screen Time only lets you review your usage per day or per week. If you want to review e.g. a whole month or the past 90 days, you are out of luck. Timing lets you review any time range you want.

1. Screen Time at best gives you a rough idea of what apps you used in a given hour. Timing shows you exactly when you used each app, and for how long. No more guesswork!

We have finally released @TimingApp's Screen Time integration this week. It imports your iPhone/iPad usage, giving you a complete picture of your time across _all_ devices. If you'd like to know how this is better than Apple's Screen Time, read on! 🧵

First, I had to get a good, easy-to-use, automated task tracker. I use @TimingApp - it tracks what apps and docs I use, for how long, and for what tasks. It showed me how wildly miscalibrated I was about how long typical tasks take me. (2/x)
