The @ElecCommIRL has awarded the additional European Parliament seat to the Midlands-North West Constituency.
This brings the total number of Irish MEPs to 14 after next year’s European Parliament elections – strengthening Ireland’s voice in Europe #EU @emireland @EPinIreland
With an extra MEP seat allocated to Ireland, @ElecCommIRL recommends:
➡️The transfer of Laois and Offaly from the South constituency to the Midlands-North-West constituency.
➡️The addition of one seat to that Midlands-North West Constituency to make it a 5 seat constituency.

Unacceptable remarks of the Chinese Ambassador to France questioning the sovereignty of the countries which became independent with the end of the Soviet Union in 1991.
The EU can only suppose these declarations do not represent China’s official policy.

China sentenced human rights lawyers #XuZhiyong & #DingJiaxi to 14 and 12 years of prison. They were calling for transparency and democracy. According to the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention they were arbitrarily detained. We call for their unconditional release.
