If you say you love nature, you need to read this book. Generation Restoration by @TimChristo might be the most important book I’ve read this year. It offers a clear, hopeful, and practical roadmap for fixing our broken relationship with Mother Nature. Christophersen, the Vice President of Climate Action at Salesforce and a former United Nations Environment leader, fills the pages with stories of success and failure from around the world. The message is simple: when we give nature a chance, she bounces back stronger than ever. One study he highlights stopped me in my tracks. Restoring about one million square miles of tropical rainforest, an area roughly the size of Argentina, could be enough to stop the planet from warming further. That restoration alone could give humanity time to finish the global energy transition that is already accelerating. This book replaces doom with direction and despair with action. It reminds us that abundance is the natural state of the Earth and of us, if we choose to live in alignment with it.

By withdrawing their support for the #RestoreNature law, 🇪🇺 countries massively fail youth & future generations. Let's not wait until it's too late. @EUCouncil & @EU2024BE, it's time to seal the deal! For nature, our climate, our economy, our youth, and our future ✌️
After the celebration of the adoption of the Nature Restoration Law in the European Parliament, EU Member States failed to reach the necessary qualified majority. We are disappointed! Read our full youth statement in this post. #NatureRestoration #ForOurPlanet #YouthInclusion

Hey @WIRED, really? Your headline misrepresents new science from @TWCrowther et al on #Forests4Climate. This study DOES NOT tell us to “stop planting 🌳 “. It finds 39% of C potential via restoration, which includes planting & regenerating 🌳. 1/2 🧵 wired.com/story/stop-plantin… – at Alexandria, VA

Carbon is neither created nor destroyed. We are just remarkably good at moving Carbon around our planet. We moved 271GT into the atmosphere since 1750 (CO2 emissions, deforestation, etc.) We can move 200GT back to the earth by planting 1 trillion trees. Join us. 1t.org ❤️🌲

Are you interested in #reforestation for #climate but worried this means planting monoculture forests that swap carbon for biodiversity? (I hear a lot of this...) Give a 👀to see an example of what's really going on in the 🌲 movement. @AmericanForests @1t_org_US @Benioff
