Different videos. Different ideas.
Love seeing the consistency here.
Need thumbnails that can’t be ignored? Let’s talk.

Some of the thumbnails we’ve done for @DannyDuncan69
For this set, we wanted the thumbnails to feel as chaotic as the videos themselves.
The main goal was keeping the story readable at a glance.
Would love to hear your thoughts on it.

I recently watched a video from @AprilynneAlter about improving YouTube thumbnails, and honestly, I picked up a few things worth sharing.
If you're making thumbnails, these stood out to me:
1. Design for TV too
YouTube is being watched more and more on TVs. Try the 50% test if the top half of your thumbnail doesn't make sense on its own, it probably needs work.
2. Make people curious
Don't let the title do all the work. Your thumbnail should make someone feel something or ask a question.
3. Don't start from zero
Before designing, collect 10–15 thumbnails or visuals you like. Look for patterns instead of trying to invent everything from scratch.
4. Remove the unnecessary stuff
Less clutter = easier to understand. Make the main subject obvious and guide the viewer's eye toward it.
5. Test your ideas
Even a small change in thumbnail text can make a difference. A/B testing helps you find what actually works instead of guessing.
The biggest takeaway for me:
A good thumbnail isn't just about looking good. It's about making someone stop, understand, and want to know more.
Definitely worth watching if you work with YouTube content.

MrBeast isn’t making thumbnails more realistic just to make them look better.
He’s making them easier to believe.
Look at this: the thumbnail is essentially a polished version of what happens in the first 3 seconds of the video.
That matters more than most creators realize.
The moment someone clicks, they immediately see the police chase, the van, the orange jumpsuit. Their brain gets confirmation:
“Okay, this is real. I wasn’t baited.”
The thumbnail gets verified almost instantly.
That is powerful because the best packaging does not only earn a click. It makes the viewer feel they got exactly what they were promised.
Over time, that reduces skepticism. People do not need to wonder whether the thumbnail was invented in Photoshop or pulled from a completely different moment in the video.
It is still dramatic. It is still optimized. But it feels real enough to trust.
Most creators try to make thumbnails more shocking.
MrBeast is making them more believable.
And when viewers believe your promise, they are more willing to click your next one.
