this thumbnail is a great example of simple curiosity done right.
You see the face → watermelon → milk jug → instantly wonder “what is going on?”The messy food sells the story, and the supermarket background gives context.
My only issue: too much going on.
Can someone explain what's the reason behind this @YouTube
$1 trillion company btw.

Different videos. Different ideas.
Love seeing the consistency here.
Need thumbnails that can’t be ignored? Let’s talk.

Some of the thumbnails we’ve done for @DannyDuncan69
For this set, we wanted the thumbnails to feel as chaotic as the videos themselves.
The main goal was keeping the story readable at a glance.
Would love to hear your thoughts on it.
This is a thumbnail that I made maybe one or one and a half years ago, 🪄✨
Let me know what you guys think about this!

I recently watched a video from @AprilynneAlter about improving YouTube thumbnails, and honestly, I picked up a few things worth sharing.
If you're making thumbnails, these stood out to me:
1. Design for TV too
YouTube is being watched more and more on TVs. Try the 50% test if the top half of your thumbnail doesn't make sense on its own, it probably needs work.
2. Make people curious
Don't let the title do all the work. Your thumbnail should make someone feel something or ask a question.
3. Don't start from zero
Before designing, collect 10–15 thumbnails or visuals you like. Look for patterns instead of trying to invent everything from scratch.
4. Remove the unnecessary stuff
Less clutter = easier to understand. Make the main subject obvious and guide the viewer's eye toward it.
5. Test your ideas
Even a small change in thumbnail text can make a difference. A/B testing helps you find what actually works instead of guessing.
The biggest takeaway for me:
A good thumbnail isn't just about looking good. It's about making someone stop, understand, and want to know more.
Definitely worth watching if you work with YouTube content.
