This is a bad move by Bottoms. Expanding casino gambling shouldn’t be thought of as an economic development tool. It will only worsen the gambling addiction many folks have already. Online betting+ casino expansion= folk hooked on gambling like crack in the 80’s.
Democratic nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms is going further than simply supporting a statewide vote on casino gambling, casting legalization as an economic development tool for struggling communities. #gapol

The area around Midtown MARTA Station in 2026 & 2005. In that same period, our only rail expansion was a pitiful streetcar loop 1.3 miles long.
Infill density moves faster than transit construction. While we wait for new rail, densifying near existing stops is important.

This idea for a freight-rail bypass for Atlanta is amazing!
I was lucky enough to be part of the group that got a presentation of it and I was instantly sold. It creates opportunities for new passenger rail by diverting freight trains out of the city.

Gem of knowledge from Kronberg per usual.
Major permitting and zoning reform needed in Atlanta if we’re ever going to address housing affordability.

Atlanta DOT Howell Mill sidewalk and bike lane construction north of the Trabert Ave future Beltline crossing up to the bridge over the rail line is nearly complete on the east side. The extension on to the bridge may be more complicated.

When introductions occur like this… it is intentional and intended to sway.
Means either BeltLine (& potentially Atlanta) leadership knew they wanted autonomous pods to be recommended &/or RFP not competitive to produce unbiased outcome.
What a failure.

absolutely wonderful news from @MARTAtransit !! i was always skeptical about reported ridership numbers, but i didnt realize it was *this* bad
this puts MARTA at around 75% rail ridership recovery compared w/ pre-pandemic numbers - on par with the other heavy rail systems in the country

It’s a bike lane! 🚴👏
This morning I was proud to join @ATLDOT @MidtownATL and community members to welcome the new Juniper Complete Street & bike lane! It’s so essential that we keep investing in infrastructure to build a safer, more equitable, and less car dependent Atlanta.

Where should a new Amtrak Location Go? ARC and the City of Atlanta are conducting a study to find the best options to replace the current station, which is too small, not ADA-compliant, and far from MARTA rail.
