Of course. But 2/3rds have come up through the ranks from lottery-based admission at Y7. So the bulk of those results have been built within the school. The standard is that high so that newcomers can keep up.

I realise I was leaving it a bit late trying to order yesterday but Amazon delivery was going to be Thursday or Friday ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ And here we are in west Cork which is apparently going to have 97.5% coverage. Looks like weโ€™ll be using the colander!

So sad to hear of the death of David Austin. Wandering around Mona Vale rose garden in Christchurch, all my favourites were David Austin roses. What a delight, years later, to visit and purchase roses from his nursery. RIP You have brought joy to many.

This is still around?! I remember doing a practicum at a school (attached to the teachersโ€™ college) where the school were ditching literacy intervention for these activities. Yes, I did balance boards etc. Do I cringe now? ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

The Snow Report: The dog ate my homework: Educationโ€™s evidence-excuses echo-chamber : pamelasnow.blogspot.com/2026โ€ฆ Another great post from @PCSnow1604 highlighting the tendency for teachers to go for the โ€˜new sparkly thingโ€™ rather than practices that are supported by evidence.

I saw my first ones the other day, here in West Cork ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช There were about six of them chirruping away. They all flew away except this one. Sound on ๐Ÿ”‰

Here's a taste of our newly released podcast 'Inside the Reading Gap'. It's a challenging look at the stark divide between literate and illiterate outcomes in education (sound on๐Ÿ”‰). It's also a message of hope. Listen on our website (see bio) or wherever you get your podcasts.
