During the trial of the OneTaste founder, witnesses testified that they had been afraid to speak up about the abuse. Many said that they left the company in debt, after being compelled to pay for expensive courses and programs. Some called it a cult. nyer.cm/MvE7Hlf

The sexual-wellness company OneTaste specialized in “orgasmic meditation,” a ritual focussed on the female orgasm. But the company’s leadership preyed on young, impressionable women who were seduced by the idea of sexual freedom. nyer.cm/kOJHjXi

Working on this project was a lifeline for me after my son was born - every entry we got from these contributors spoke straight to my heart. I can't wait to share it with you all very soon. And if you're deep in postpartum and taking notes - I want to read them!!!

A wonderful reading of "My Work" in @nytimesbooks
The Danish noveliist Olga Ravn, writes our reviewer, “tugs skillfully at the threads of reality, slowly and subtly distorting events to reveal hidden, dislocated truths.” Her new book, “My Work,” is a stylish and surreal evocation of new parenthood. nyti.ms/45vleKX

Ravn experienced ppd and uses multiple narrators (ie, I don’t know who wrote this, it wasn’t me, let’s call her Anna) that creates this powerful sense of disassociation. That, and her distorted chronology paint a compelling portrait of the early days of caring for a newborn!
