"Building resilience from the ground up" This's how we see the great rebuild shaping up The abandonment of reckless growth (population/economic), to be replaced with a dynamic state of balance at sustainable scale. Population - Lifestyle... in balance with natural systems.

Every now & then it's useful to highlight a single impact of population growth. Sand- just another resource once thought to be "unlimited", now under growing stress* as population growth demands construction boom. *This means the price goes up. population.org.au/media-rele…

"Don't repeat the same mistake & expect a different result" For 20 yrs we've been told mass immigration will solve the ageing problem, skills shortages, the housing crisis & improve the economy & everyone's lives. For 20 yrs all these things have gone backwards! population.org.au/sign-the-s…
20 yrs ago our political class (across the spectrum) united to commit 100% to mass immigration/rapid population growth. 20 yrs on- & despite its obvious & catastrophic failure for the Australian people, it seems nothing will deter them from their agenda. macrobusiness.com.au/2026/09…

Definitely! How on Earth do people think that the world in which they can have these thoughts was constructed?! By Divine Providence? It was by engineers.
Actually, engineers at their best are startlingly imaginative.

Not only is this a dangerous road traffic issue, it is a serious resource issue too. Larger vehicles worse particulate & carbon emissions. EVs are better, but they are already heavier than past vehicles - larger ones are unnecessary. When are we going to think of the environment?

"A shrinking population might actually be a good thing" Many articles warn about falling birth rates, stoking fears that a shrinking population will destroy the economy. This ignores how other factors influence economic growth. Chris Gay explains how increased productivity gains can counteract the effects of a smaller working force, ultimately allowing the population to shrink while ensuring greater well-being. overpopulation-project.com/a…

People say it's ONLY rich over-consumption*, NOT #overpopulation that destroys the planet, but- We now have a global middle class of 4-4.4 billion (& growing). These are not rich over consumers, mostly poor who've moved up. There are another 3 billion who deserve this opportunity. Rich over-consumers aside, if you think the earth can sustainably support 7.4 billion, at middle class consumption levels you are dangerously delusional. *** *SPA acknowledges that overconsumption at the top end is also a problem which must be addressed. We advocate an holistic, ethical response. population.org.au/about-popu…
When populations swell, nature dies, ... and human happiness declines. A smaller, stable world is a happier place.

Inconvenient FACT: A global population of 1 billion would give all ample use of the earth's resources to eliminate poverty without degrading the planet. The task becomes difficult at 2 billion, & impossible after that... we are currently at 8.3 billion, still growing at 70k pa. We only sustain our numbers through mounting ecological debt. So tell us again that we must not discuss #overpopulation.

This idiotic confusion of temperature change at a location with temperature change over time is the same mistake that economists have made to claim 3C of warming won’t be a big deal.
Is a couple of degrees of warming by 2100 really an emergency? Well, let's put that into context... That's about the temperature change from 8am to 10am in most major cities. Are we experiencing an emergency every morning?

What is the economy actually for? Adam Smith would have recognised the question immediately. Smith was a moral philosopher concerned with prosperity, institutions and human flourishing. The economy was a means. Human wellbeing was the end. theschism.org/economics-fail…
