60 years ago today, Frank Walker entered his homemade jetpack into a Science Fair Competition at the New York World's Fair.
While he didn't walk out of the Hall of Invention with the $50 prize, his ambition earned him a life-changing pin-vitation.

Brad Bird is thanked in the Megalopolis credits, and I sincerely wonder if Francis asked him if he could have any unused Tomorrowland concept art he had laying around.
Tomorrowland will be featured in volume two of @m_giacchino's Exotic Themes!
(Thanks for the heads up, @RamseyEss!)

It's supposed to be "one for them" then "one for me." Brad Bird did not get his "one for me", so that means he gets two in a row after Incredibles 3, right?
Maybe volume two?

Ten years ago today, The Optimist alternate reality game was announced on the Disney Parks blog.
A (now defunct) landing page boldly defied the form's "this is not a game" trope by acting as a book cover, welcoming us into its fictional world.

Today's release of Tomorrowland on @DisneyPlus does not include any extras.
An animated short, "The Origins of Plus Ultra" was attached to the start of the film in select theaters at the director's request, and we have made it available on YouTube:

After several years of being unavailable on the service, @BradBirdA113's TOMORROWLAND will return to @DisneyPlus tomorrow.
The short was originally intended to live within the film, in the form of a "dark ride" young Frank goes through before reaching the transport platform to Tomorrowland.
We assembled a story reel from Marc Vena's original storyboards for this sequence:

To celebrate, @nickytea talked with legendary graphic designer @csdesign72 about his work on the film’s iconic pin and the secretive 1952 box. Available now, wherever you listen to podcasts:

"Bailey’s office is lined with framed photographs from the movies he’s produced ... it’d be easy to imagine an executive hiding that one in a drawer. But Bailey didn’t retrench. He put them up on the wall, where the framed photos stayed to this day."

Dear @Sony,
The first movie ever mastered in @Dolby Vision, and the first movie with an all-4K post production pipeline has still never been made available in 4K or HDR.
Please release @BradBirdA113's Tomorrowland on a 4K UHD Disk. (Its 10th anniversary is next year!)
Disney will outsource manufacturing, distributing, and marketing of DVDs and Blu-ray discs to Sony Pictures as part of a new deal, according to @Variety. This only impacts physical media - no changes to digital media.

I suspect the kind soul running the ILM account doesn't realize that this is the first official Disney-affiliated post acknowledging this movie's existence for over half a decade.
