"Amazon likes to talk about its latest robots because it doesn't want to talk about the tens of thousands of Amazon workers who are injured every year." trib.al/vLTa1No

Solidarity with our @NUJofficial family going on strike this morning at The Lancet, a 200+ year-old medical journal. Fair contract now! ✊🇬🇧
Our members at The Lancet are taking further strike action for fair pay this week.
Elsevier, who owns The Lancet, made an adjusted operating profit of over a billion last year so the company can afford to address pay erosion.

Splinter Twin and Pestermite. Channel and Fireball. Flash and Protean Hulk. Magic players know how powerful a combo can be. That’s why Studio X and D&D are combining their union efforts! Help us pull off this win and sign our petition. 💪

It's not people’s wage demands driving up costs, that's due to anti-worker policies and corporate GREED! #GreedyCEOs continue to raise prices just to boost profits, while the Trump admin’s tariffs and Iran war are spiking those costs even more. 🤬
Here's the key problem...inflation has wiped out wage gains for 6 months now.
It's a financial squeeze.
Americans are trying to work more hours to make up for it, but many are still falling behind.
Many people are worse off. As BLS wrote,
In the past year, "real average hourly earnings decreased 0.7%. The change in real average hourly earnings combined with a 0.6% increase in the average workweek resulted in a 0.1% decrease in real average weekly earnings."

This is a great way to illustrate how rampant data center development takes money and resources away from stuff real people want and need: housing, healthcare, and education.

With Starbucks making moves like this, it's more important than ever for us to organize to protect our rights.

Our members love the games we create and the people who make them. As Stephanie Cheung shares, the best way to support our game makers is by unionizing! Show your support by signing our petition and sharing what you love about the games you play!

Thank you for the tremendous outpouring of support you’ve shown us over the last week. You’re truly proving that an adventuring party is only as strong as each of its members.

Yesterday, Wizards informed us that it doesn’t intend to voluntarily recognize the D&D or Studio X units of our union ahead of a vote. We remain committed to creating a workplace focused on wellness, transparency, and collaboration by winning our coming election.
Stand with Wizards workers by signing the petition to leadership: actionnetwork.org/forms/uwot…

If you care about affordability, you should care about the antitrust case against Amazon.
The company's price-fixing makes stuff more expensive for everyone -- even people who don't shop on Amazon.

I sat in a room last month with a woman who injured her hand at JFK8. She was told to keep working. That was her one hand. Her other arm ended at the elbow.
Another woman was sent to do Prime deliveries with a side mirror held together with tape. Another time, she was sent with a fully broken side mirror and was told “stop by a pharmacy, buy tape, keep driving.”
One time, she was sent to do deliveries in the summer, in Queens, with school out and kids out, with no reverse camera. When she told her boss she wouldn't be able to see kids behind her van, she was told “so don’t go in reverse.”
Another woman was assaulted by a mentally ill man *while making Prime deliveries*, was told by doctors to stay home to recover, and was never paid for that time.
Another driver, a young man in his 20s, was sent out to drive in broiling heat in a van with no AC. It was so hot he started vomiting while making deliveries. He asked for help. They told him keep driving.
When all of those *Amazon* delivery drivers asked *Amazon* for help, Amazon said 'you don't work for Amazon. You work for an independent contractor.'
These workers HAVE a solution, it's called the Driver Protection Act. It's supported by all but one NYC councilmember.
And yes, Jeff, most of them think you're a villain. Because that's what happens when you hurt people who work harder than you and get rich off of it.
BEZOS: When you're in the polling booth and you're thinking about who you're going to vote for, think about this. If there's a politician that is picking villains and pointing fingers, that's probably means they don't have a solution
If there's an executive at one of my companies, instead of working on a root cause and a real fix, all they did is point fingers and blame people, we would exit them quickly.

People are picked up on their way to work, handcuffed, and taken to a warehouse, leaving their families searching for answers.
There is something deeply disturbing about treating human beings like something to be stored away.
