Early-stage founders in India: stop digging through 20 grant portals. Ask one question and get SISFS, NIDHI-PRAYAS, TIDE 2.0 and state schemes matched to your stage. Every answer links to the official source. Something we’ve been building with the Eklavya team 👇

India makes only about 13-14% of its GDP in manufacturing. Adding factories won’t close that gap alone. So we asked a different question: who are the enablers for the manufacturing economy? Our deep dive on Manufacturing Enablers in India 🧵 @malpani @SaneDhruv

I've visited Tadoba, Pench, Kanha, Gir, Periyar and Eravikulam, and every experience was completely different. So I'm building a map of India's national parks: to capture my stories and to highlight the people on the front lines keeping these ecosystems alive.

We're hiring at @MalpaniVentures : Social Media & Content (9-month paid internship, then full-time) If you spend an unreasonable amount of time reading about companies, watching business YouTube, scrolling X for startup threads and thinking "someone should write about this", we'd like to hear from you. @malpani

This man is a hero. Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit. Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers. Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives. Indian. Israeli. Emirati. Different nationalities. One extraordinary act of courage. 🇮🇳🇮🇱🇦🇪 We wish Captain Machchhar a full and speedy recovery.

Too many startups do not raise the capital they need. They raise the capital investors are willing to give them. In the latest edition of my newsletter, I share my views on the fundamental question ‘How much capital should a startup raise?’ dhruvsane.com/how-much-capit…

Deck sharing platforms are way too expensive. And worse, most of the useful stuff is locked away. Founders should be able to know whether an investor opened their deck, how long they spent on it, where they dropped off, or whether they downloaded it. We built RaiseGate to make all of this accessible. And today, we are opening sign-ups. For this week, anyone can join. Starting next week, public sign-ups close and RaiseGate becomes invite-only through existing users. We are also giving you the Pro plan for free on one condition: invite another founder to use RaiseGate. Fundraising infrastructure should not be gated behind expensive plans. Founders should have more control over their own data, not at the cost of their wallet.

The difficult part of battery manufacturing is not assembling cells. It is engineering a system that performs reliably when the operating conditions are unforgiving. That is why we are pleased to announce that @MalpaniVentures has co-led the ₹8.3 crore seed round in Adiabatic Technologies What stood out to us was the depth of engineering across the stack. Adiabatic designs its systems in-house, from cell selection and pack architecture to thermal management and battery software. The new capital will help the company expand its manufacturing capacity to 100 MWh annually, strengthen its engineering team and accelerate product development. This is not simply a battery manufacturing bet. It is a bet on the engineering layer that will power the next generation of Indian machines. Glad to partner with @Darshan_IITH and the Adiabatic team on this journey, alongside Avinya Ventures, Appreciate Capital, DeVC, Operators Studio and UPES Incubator. @malpani @TheRahilShah @IPendse

We’ve all seen people nerd out on fancy coffee tasting notes and bright acidity. @karansehgal47 and I spent the last month digging past the flavor talk. We decoded the numbers: farmgate prices, the harvest-to-cup chain, and where value moves and costs land for founders in India.

Term sheets can be intimidating for first-time founders. Small lines buried inside legal language can quietly change exit outcomes, founder control, dilution, future fundraising and more. Doing our bit to break down the key clauses @malpani @SaneDhruv youtu.be/uHJlvTHrOyo?si=YKsw…

A retailer in a small North Indian town can tell you a lot about rural consumption. Mountain Dew moving fast. Campa and Sting fighting for share. ₹10 diaper packs mattering. Parle-G picking up in summer. Butter biscuits doing better in winter. The story is in the details.
