Hard fought animal rights, wildlife laws and environmental norms have been slowly eroded over the last 10 years. Here is another eg
While the modern world is moving towards alternatives like organ-on-a-chip technology, 3 D cell cultures, in silico modeling through advanced computer simulations and AI, in-vitro/ tissue assays and human microdosing, India has drafted a law to remove existing protection given to laboratory animals.
Viksit Bharat? 🙁
Why are we regressing wrt every freaking thing?
While the world moves ahead to understand animal testing is not ethical, India instead decides to even remove the existing protection given to animals!!! What kind of sadist shit is this? Read!!!

Goa be like:
Dogs on beaches?
MENACE. REMOVE THEM.
Humans leaving behind beer bottles, plastic, food waste and mountains of garbage? Oh, thats TOURISM.
The species that pollutes the oceans, destroys habitats and turns beaches into dumping grounds has somehow appointed itself the judge of which species deserves to exist there.
Imagine being the biggest ecological menace on the planet and having the audacity to call a dog a menace.
The hypocrisy is almost impressive.

With climate threats worsening every year, we need on-ground efforts to get ahead of the problems they’re going to cause.
Tired of the incompetence we call local governance and its inability to solve for clean air and water, or protect and expand tree cover in our cities.
I am shivering with fear by just thinking about the immenant water crisis that is about to happen in 2-3 months.
I have lived that severe water crisis era of 2003. We used the get water for 1 hr once in a week. For clean drinking water we used to run behind the municipal water tankers.
I have seen water being supplied by trains to my hometown pali.
I don't think 95% of people here even know how hard they are about to hit.
I will seriously plead you all to use water very carefully
Perspectives on how MV views an important aspect within Manufacturing
Please share your thoughts and feedback
@MalpaniVentures @SaneDhruv @TheRahilShah
India makes only about 13-14% of its GDP in manufacturing.
Adding factories won’t close that gap alone. So we asked a different question: who are the enablers for the manufacturing economy?

The job: think about businesses all day, write about the interesting ones.
Turn your startup obsession into a paid job.
We are hiring!

I've visited Tadoba, Pench, Kanha, Gir, Periyar and Eravikulam, and every experience was completely different.
So I'm building a map of India's national parks: to capture my stories and to highlight the people on the front lines keeping these ecosystems alive.
Next month: Eaglenest, Ziro Valley and Mechuka in Arunachal.
Near Eaglenest lives a bird first described in 2006. Only a handful exist. It's named after the Bugun, a tribe of about 2,000 people who protect its forest themselves.

We're hiring at @MalpaniVentures : Social Media & Content
(9-month paid internship, then full-time)
If you spend an unreasonable amount of time reading about companies, watching business YouTube, scrolling X for startup threads and thinking "someone should write about this", we'd like to hear from you.

Can't believe how simply @roshanasingh6 explained what AI agents are capable of today and what the future looks like.
Fun demo by Roshan of his deployed AI agents. We also discussed Dots, OpenClaw, privacy and prompt injection. Btw, Roshan is a serial bug bounty hunter.
Weekend well spent :)

Bhutan has become the first country in the World Health Organization’s South-East Asia Region to eliminate dog-transmitted rabies as a public health problem. The WHO, on Saturday, validated Bhutan’s achievement. The mountain kingdom’s last rabies death was in June 2023, @ramyakannan reports.

I’ve been reading Mark Leonard’s shareholder letters at Constellation Software, working chronologically from the early years through 2010.
Constellation acquires and operates specialised software businesses serving narrow industries and mission-critical workflows.
Several principles appear remarkably consistent across the letters:
- acquire specialised software businesses with attractive economics;
- retain managers who understand their verticals;
- interfere selectively rather than centralising every decision;
- hold businesses for the long term;
- and prioritise long-term returns on capital.
The tactics kept evolving: acquisitions versus organic initiatives, current margins versus reinvestment, and financial conservatism versus leverage during weak markets.
I’m only through the letters up to 2010, so these are still early observations. I’ll share more as I continue, although the letters become less frequent and more sparse in the later years.
