This is such a shame... and it was to stand up for the Post Office in such hours of need that Terry Pratchett* wrote one of the great masterpieces of English Literature... *'Mr Pratchett writes exceedingly funny satires.' A. Critick
In the previous year, said the Postmaster General when opening the Post Office in Hanley, Staffordshire, in 1906, more than 25 million letters and packages were undelivered; they had not been properly addressed. Among them were sums of money amounting to £650,000. Closed 2007.

Who could look at a Van Gogh with this magnificent beast in the offing...? (NB Prob only on view in New York... 🙁)
Rich people! These four paintings by Van Gogh, Cezanne, Gauguin and Pissarro are coming up for sale at Sothebys and going on show in London TODAY! You can go and see them for free. If you had the money, which one would you buy? I'd go for the Gauguin!

The new post on The Frame Blog is Margaret Sawicki's consideration of the ethics of conserving giltwood, including frames, & her suggestions for working out the least invasive but most effective form of treatment: 'Regilding, in-gilding, or in-painting?' theframeblog.com/2026/09/29/…

But you have only posted half the painting, as Van Gogh gave it an integral frame. This is the complete work of art:

Well, about that, I would think that the reason it hasn't been changed is that 1) it isn't as drastically in need of a new frame as, eg, this, below, and 2) it is necessary to find the right frame, of such a size as not to need or to need only minor alteration, which isn't easy..
