CSS spoke last week in Washington, D.C. at the invitation of @StateSEAS and @StateDept's Foreign Press Center Combating Global Antisemitism tour. Together with our Partners @Official_SCN, CSS presented to journalists from more than 15 countries, including the UK, Spain, Australia, South Africa, and Germany, about how community-based security protects synagogues, Jewish institutions and communal events across the United States.
Monday evening, CSS volunteers in New York City joined security partners to help protect the @IsraelinNewYork's official memorial event for the victims of October 7th.
#October7
Three years ago today, on October 7, 2023, the world changed in a single morning.
That morning, approximately 6,000 Hamas and other terrorists from Gaza invaded southern Israel. They murdered more than 1,200 men, women and children and took 251 hostages to Gaza in the deadliest single day for Jews since the Holocaust.
CSS remembers the victims, stands with the survivors and remains more committed than ever to protecting Jewish life and Jewish way of life.
Thank you to the thousands of dedicated CSS volunteers who are spending part of their holiday keeping their communities safe. Your commitment makes Jewish life possible this Simchat Torah and every day.
Chag sameach from all of us at CSS.

We’re grateful to our volunteers, the NYPD, and all of our security partners for their continued collaboration and commitment to protecting Jewish life and Jewish way of life.
On September 20, during Yom Kippur services, Constable Jeff Smith of the Belleville Police Service was stationed outside the Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville, Ontario. When an armed assailant opened fire, Smith engaged and stopped the threat about half a block from the Synagogue.
Constable Smith was critically wounded, and no one inside the synagogue was harmed.
CSS salutes his courage and prays for his full and speedy recovery. His actions remind us how the partnership between law enforcement and the community keeps Jewish life safe.

What four steps can synagogues take to protect their communities before the High Holidays? CSS CEO Richard Priem shares tips from CSS's security professionals in the @sunsentinel hubs.ly/Q04x4H0N0.
CSS volunteers provided on-the-ground security for the Jewish Graduate Organization's Summit in Washington, D.C. last weekend.
In addition, CSS trainers taught self-defense and security awareness classes to nearly two dozen Jewish graduate students, giving them practical self-defense skills they can carry into their own communities and campuses.
Thank you to the great volunteers who kept this event safe, and to the students stepping up to learn how they can protect themselves and their peers on campus.
