Former federal prosecutor @shipwreckedcrew told journalist @SteveBakerUSA to plead guilty AFTER Trump was elected President??? Is that true? Steve Baker had one of the cleanest J6 cases. He was obviously there as a journalist. There was no reason not to go to trial. If my memory serves, Steve was only charged with misdemeanors. It’s almost certain he would have been pardoned. In my opinion, former federal prosecutors who do criminal defense are more lobbyist than lawyer. They horse trade with their former colleagues to get favorable plea deals. The problem is, sometimes they’ll throw you under the bus to get another client a good deal or just to maintain a good relationship with the prosecutor or the judge. This is just a general observation based on conversations with criminal defendants about those types of lawyers. Not a specific allegation about anyone.
