The last couple of weeks have been an exciting yet intense one for me. Officially joined the team @Clapmihq as the Engineering Manager and boy! The experience has been a rollercoaster. Is anyone looking to get into engineering management? Or already is in engineering management? I’m looking to connect with people in the field and maybe share one or two experiences 😇

We're hiring! Little Plains is looking for two builders who sit where design meets code. Brand engineer: a brand designer who builds in code. You'll build custom tools and agentic brand systems that let client teams and their AI tools keep a brand looking like itself long after handoff. Design technologist: a designer who uses agentic tools to get from idea to working experience fast, then pushes well past the first draft. You'll build sites, products, and interactive work with the motion and craft intact. Both are contract roles to start, in New York or remote (EST preferred). Build with us! littleplains.com/talent/bran… littleplains.com/talent/desi…

Come work with me at Resend. We’re hiring a Platform Engineer. What I love most about Resend is solving scaling problems across infra, code and processes. Seeing those solutions have a real-world impact is amazing. And I get to do it with the most talented, kind people I’ve ever worked with. You’ll be a great fit if: - You have 8+ years of experience across a mix of: AWS, IaC (CDK/Terraform), DevOps, security, observability (Datadog/Grafana), networking and databases like Postgres, Redis and Elasticsearch - You have an AI mindset and are curious about how it changes the way we build - You take ownership and use the autonomy to improve things at every opportunity - TypeScript and Go are what we mostly use. None of this is a hard requirement, and the full details are in the career link. Perks: 🌍 Fully remote across the Americas/Europe time zones 🛫 Two off-sites per year ♥️ Did I mention working with incredibly talented and kind people 💰 Above average compensation, depending on location and experience Don’t apply if you don’t love your craft or need hand-holding. - Europe time zones: resend.com/careers/76dcf582-… - America time zones: resend.com/careers/a9fc1d02-…

‼️ PHP UPDATE: The Dutch parliament, the Dutch national cyber agency and Finland's central government have pulled websites offline ahead of the PHP patch. Finland's state IT centre Valtori is shutting down public-facing central government web services. The National Land Survey of Finland is already down. In the Netherlands, the Tweede Kamer, the NCSC and the Dutch Data Protection Authority are offline. So are tech site Tweakers and NotuBiz, which runs council information for 100+ local governments. The University of Vienna switched off its websites, webmail and Moodle. The University of Freiburg and Finland's Haaga-Helia have taken services down too. Fur Affinity, Pinboard, explain xkcd and every wiki on Miraheze are dark as well. Valtori says its shutdown is a precaution, not the result of an attack or breach. PHP was created by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994, it initially stood for Personal Home Page PHP's fix is due at 14:00 UTC today.

Critical PHP vulnerabilities to be disclosed tomorrow: php.net/archive/2026.php. We're working directly with the PHP Foundation to get patched PHP versions into our base images for Laravel Cloud, Forge, and Vapor ASAP. You may need to redeploy your apps at that time to use these patched versions, but we're also working on the ability to silently patch applications without needing a redeployment. All customers have been emailed and we will be providing further updates via email as the situation evolves.

Full details of a remotely exploitable vulnerability in the core engine of *all* PHP versions will be released tomorrow, October 21st. If your organization has internet facing PHP applications then you need to be ready to patch the minute the update is released or *strongly* consider taking the application offline until you can: php.net/index.php#2026-10-20…
🚨 PHP warns of two critical vulnerabilities as emergency patches arrive tomorrow The PHP security team will release updates on October 21 at 14:00 UTC for two vulnerabilities, each rated 9.2 under CVSS v4.0. ⠀ Security researchers identified the flaws as CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 and described them as remote code execution vulnerabilities reportedly affecting PHP versions 5 through 8. PHP has not yet confirmed the affected versions, exploitation requirements or fixed releases. ⠀ The vulnerabilities were reportedly leaked before their planned disclosure. Researchers said they have not observed active exploitation, while PHP warned it may release the patches early if technical details become public or exploitation is detected. ⠀ Administrators should identify PHP installations now and prepare to apply the updates as soon as they become available.
