Today, I worked on public speaking. I have hosted events before but leo for the first time sikuwa anxious. What helped was the awareness that I am doing it scared. Not acknowledging the fear is what used to mess me up. Thanks to Textbook Center for believing in my team and I💚
Couple of things I am going to learn. 1. Bicycle riding 2. Swimming (I can only swim in pools, I want to dive) 3. Manual car driving 4. Sewing. 5. Meditation 6. Shaving 7. Public speaking

Someone at Kitabu Fest said, “If you’re the best at what you do in this country, you’re also among the best in the world.” and I couldn’t agree more.

In partnership with KE Subcultures, we heard from authors across different worlds: 📖 K. Kimuyu, author of Sponsor, on the world of fiction and storytelling. Kisauti 🌱 Joram Mwinamo, author of The Enterprise Jungle, on writing from the business world. Joram Mwinamo 🎙️ Francis Okello, author of Concert of Life, on documenting the corporate world through autobiography. The authors unpacked what it takes to make a book stand out — from writing and positioning to marketing and building an audience — and why book launches, book clubs, podcasts and word-of-mouth recommendations continue to matter in growing a reading culture. #KitabuFest – at Nairobi, Kenya

But perhaps just as important was hearing from the readers. What is missing from Kenya's literary scene? What do readers want to see more of? And what would make more people pick up a Kenyan book and keep turning the pages? Because The Kenyan Story Told isn't only about authors telling stories. It is about publishers creating space for them, booksellers bringing them closer to readers, and readers deciding which stories continue to be heard. The conversation continues. 🇰🇪 #KitabuFest #KenyanLiterature #TBCBookClub – at Nairobi, Kenya
