My friend @pgmuscat released his very interesting (and fun!) game - Normal Golf Game - on Steam. Only $8. I finished it a couple weeks ago and couldn't stop playing. It's a ton of fun mastering the golf swing mechanics and completing the often whacky challenges (as well as normal golf holes). Very recommended. I hope it blows up for him! It deserves too. While he's a friend I don't just shill things I don't love myself, so take that for what it's worth.

Germany Quietly Becomes the Safe Bet Again.
Foreign companies poured EUR 96 billion into their German operations in 2025, more than double the previous year’s 43 billion, according to the German Economic Institute in Cologne.
For the first time since 2003, pandemic aside, the world invested more in Germany than German firms sent abroad.
The IW credits something unfashionable: predictability. In a world of tariff whiplash and political theatre, legal certainty and boring competence have become a competitive advantage, and Germany still has both in stock.

🇩🇪🇪🇺 Germany is coming back
Europe’s engine is beginning to recover.
🔸 Foreign investment increased by 50% in 2025.
🔸 Growth is expected to reach 1.5% in 2027, its fastest pace since 2021.
🔸 Export expectations reached their highest level in four years.
🔸Germany’s public support, tax cuts and labour reforms are driving recovery.
Despite the criticism, Merz’s economic management has been excellent.
These policies may not win votes in the short term, but they are exactly what Germany needs.
Europe needs Germany at its full potential again

The Dutch and Germans are both famous for being direct.
Which is unfortunate, because neither of us thinks the other is doing it correctly.
A Dutchman will look at your new haircut and say:
“That looked better before.”
Not because he dislikes you. Quite the opposite. You asked what he thought, so apparently lying would be terribly rude.
Germans have a similar reputation. They can be wonderfully straightforward, precise and completely uninterested in wrapping a simple message in six layers of emotional bubble wrap.
But there is a difference.
Dutch directness often feels casual, almost cheerful. We will insult your terrible idea while drinking coffee with you, then immediately ask what you're doing this weekend.
German directness can feel more structured. If something is wrong, there may be an explanation of exactly why it is wrong, which rule applies, and possibly which DIN standard your stupidity has violated.
The British find both of us alarming.
Americans sometimes wonder whether we're angry.
We aren't.
Probably.
And I think this is part of why Dutch and Germans understand each other so well. We can tease each other mercilessly, complain about each other's tourists, pronunciation, driving and beer glasses, then cross the border the next morning as if nothing happened.
There is something strangely affectionate about two neighbouring cultures that don't constantly need to reassure each other that everything is fine.
Sometimes friendship is simply being able to say:
“That is a terrible idea.”
And hearing:
