Thanks for keeping me company on my hike today! @Darren_Surch @TerminalTalk Great episode.
Everyone should have, and be, a mentor.
When it comes to the topic of IBM Z skills, who is better than @Darren_Surch of @Interskill? No one, that's who! Lucky you, we happen to have a brand new episode of Terminal Talk covering this extremely important topic.

The whole episode is great, but I loved when they were talking about mentoring and Darren mentioned that you also need to introduce your mentee to others in the company and industry. Yes! We do not mentor in isolation, they will need these connections as they build their career.

The answer to how to test the next #IBMZ without actually having the hardware yet is more interesting than just having a time machine!
They have to get very creative and be super clever. Also, pandemic! Great episode π€
If I told you @psqlctln had a time machine, you'd be interested, right? Well you're never gonna believe this, but PJ and his team of geniuses figured out a way to perform high-quality tests of new features and functions without pushing out release dates. podbean.com/media/share/pb-4β¦

It probably comes as no surprise that I enjoyed this #Ansible episode. Real world case of an org "already using Ansible everywhere" making using it for z/OS too a no-brainer π
It's been a minute, but we're back! Hear from Michael Fontanetta and Michael Neuliep of @EnsonoIT how they're using @ansible on z/OS to automate tasks, saving them time and letting them get more done. A truly eye-opening episode.

hey @TerminalTalk can you ask around to the mainframe grey beards you know and see if you can find what the official name of these was and any old IBM documents about their use securing mainframe access in the 60βs to 80βs so i can do an explainer on them? xitter.cf/da5ch0/status/13782359β¦
how many of you know what this is? additionally, how many can guess what this particular one was used for? and no, this is not a badge holder, so if that was gonna be your guess youβre gonna wanna maybe do some googling

ALT a small device, the point of this tweet being that i am not saying exactly what it is. this one is small and blue, and shaped a lot like a badge holder that you find with those extendable cords on a spring wheel, but instead of having a spring wheel and a cord it has a small opening on one side through which one case barely see two contrasting colors

For almost a decade I've wanted a way to easily browse XMI and virtual tape files on Linux. CBBTAPE has almost a thousand xmi files and some of those contain multiple XMI files. Today I'm happy to release XMIssion and easy way to view and extract XMI files github.com/mainframed/xmissiβ¦

#Python on the #Mainframe? Great episode, and interesting to learn that #Ansible was one of the big driving factors in releasing IBM-supported enterprise option π β at Castro Valley, CA
Python is a clear fit for z/OS, and the benefits run way deeper than may be evident at first glance. Listen to @chaddotpy (and give him a follow too, please) with all the details for this remarkable language on your favorite platform. Links in episode.

Carl and Andreas are going to get us all in trouble because they make work sound like fun. π Few IBMers out there that enjoy what they do as much as these two. Thanks guys for showing hard work and fun aren't mutually exclusive.
